I’m very happy to share that I have officially earned my AMPP/NACE CP3 – Cathodic Protection Certified Technologist certification.

This has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and reaching it feels like an important milestone in my career in cathodic protection.

I also want to take the opportunity to thank all of the great people I’ve had the privilege of working with throughout my career. I’ve learned an incredible amount from the people who took the time to teach me, answer questions, share their experience, challenge me, and mentor me along the way. A lot of the knowledge and experience that helped me achieve this certification came from those relationships, and I’m very grateful for them.

There is always more to learn in this industry, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build on that knowledge and experience.

Proud to officially add CP3 to the credentials.

Corrosion doesn’t stop at the shoreline. Neither do we.

This week, TruCorr completed a Close Interval Survey (CIS) on subsea receiving pipelines in the Cayman Islands.

Unlike conventional pipeline surveys, these inspections require collecting pipe-to-seawater potentials while working from a line boat offshore. The survey wire is connected to the pipeline manifold riser onshore while measurements are collected over the submerged pipeline alignment to evaluate the effectiveness of the cathodic protection system.

Using proven equipment, including the MC Miller Silver Land & Sea Reference Electrode Kit, MC Miller Magnum Test Reel with Submersible Adapter, CIS survey wire, and Mobiltex UGI Micro Interrupters, we’re able to collect reliable, repeatable data in challenging offshore environments.

Quality equipment doesn’t replace expertise, but it enables technicians to collect data they can stand behind. Reliable measurements give asset owners confidence when evaluating the performance of their cathodic protection systems and make informed integrity decisions.

At TruCorr, we’re committed to providing practical corrosion control solutions backed by reliable field data, whether the asset is on land, offshore, or somewhere in between.

Today I had the opportunity to meet with a team at a terminal in the Caribbean to introduce TruCorr and discuss the cathodic protection services we offer.

One thing they told me really stood out.

They’ve worked with the same cathodic protection contractor for nearly 30 years.

Of course, as a business owner, I’d love the opportunity to earn their work someday. But I also couldn’t help but respect that level of loyalty.

In an industry where contracts often change hands based on the lowest price or the next sales pitch, there’s something refreshing about a company that values long-term relationships with people who have consistently delivered.

It was a good reminder that trust isn’t built in a single meeting, it’s earned over years of showing up, doing quality work, and standing behind it.

That’s exactly the kind of company I’m building with TruCorr.

Whether we earn a client’s business tomorrow or years from now, the goal is the same: provide technical expertise, be honest, do what we say we’ll do, and become the contractor they never have to think twice about calling.

Here’s to building relationships that last decades, not just winning the next job.

One of the things I've enjoyed most over the past month has been the opportunity to work alongside several great teams on a variety of projects.

From AC mitigation installations to ICCP deep well construction, every project comes with its own challenges, procedures, and way of operating. It's always interesting to see how different crews approach the work and what makes them successful.

As a contractor-for-hire, my goal is simple: fit into the team, support the project, and help move the work forward safely and efficiently.

Depending on the project, that has meant everything from pulling cable and general labour, to mounting equipment, terminating conductors, operating a skid steer, hauling materials, assisting with site cleanup, and supporting various construction activities throughout the installation.

What I've enjoyed most is adapting to each team's workflow and finding ways to contribute wherever needed. At the end of the day, it's not about the title or the specific task, it's about helping the team complete the work safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Success in the field comes from strong teams, good communication, and people who are willing to jump in and do whatever is required to get the job done.

A big thank you to the crews and companies I've had the opportunity to work alongside recently. I appreciate the trust and look forward to supporting many more projects in the months ahead

Most tank terminal personnel are responsible for operating cathodic protection systems, but rarely receive formal training on how those systems actually work or what early warning signs to watch for in monthly readings.

The other week I had the opportunity to travel to Miami to deliver two cathodic protection presentations at an annual operations and engineering meeting for a Caribbean fuel storage terminal operator.

The first session focused on understanding corrosion at a practical level, along with the day-to-day operation of tank bottom CP systems. We discussed preventative maintenance, monthly rectifier readings, and some of the common warning signs terminal personnel can look for before small issues develop into larger integrity concerns.

The second session was geared toward engineering and project teams, and focused on tank bottom ICCP system design considerations including material selection, installation practices, and the importance of backfill quality in overall system performance.

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be invited to speak and contribute to discussions around protecting critical fuel storage infrastructure in the region.

TruCorr Inc. is always here to support tank terminal CP operations through annual surveys, system assessments, preventative maintenance guidance, or technical training for operations and integrity personnel.

If your team would be interested in a similar presentation or discussion around the operation or design of cathodic protection systems for aboveground storage tanks, I would be happy to connect.
