A sunroom floor can lose warmth without proper insulation. For this Winkler project, we applied HFO closed cell spray foam to a 12x18 floor, achieving an R28 layer.

Now, with every joist filled, the space retains heat better and blocks drafts, ensuring comfort for longer.

If you have a project in mind, please reach out and we'll be happy to help!

Before choosing an insulation approach, ask three useful questions.

1. What problem are we trying to solve: heat, cold, drafts, moisture concerns, or a combination?

2. Which part of the home is contributing to that problem?

3. Are there repairs, ventilation details, or moisture issues that need attention first?

Clear answers help keep the project focused on how the home actually works. They also reduce the temptation to treat every uncomfortable room with the same solution.

Insulation performance is often decided in the details.

Homes are full of corners, joints, framing changes, and service penetrations.
Spray foam can conform to irregular shapes and, when it is properly selected and installed for the assembly, provide insulation and air sealing in one continuous application.

That does not mean every project needs the same product or the same approach.
The right recommendation depends on the location, what the area is doing now, and how the surrounding building components are meant to work.

Have a tricky space or an insulation question? Show Summit Insulation Services what you are working with, and let us start with the details.

Share the project area with Summit and begin with a site-specific conversation.

Cold floors in January can point to something lower in the house.

The area where the house framing meets the foundation can contain many joints, corners, and penetrations. If that boundary is not performing well, homeowners may notice drafts along the floor, chilly rooms above, or a basement that never feels settled.

August is a useful time to look around the basement and note gaps, uneven insulation, or signs of past moisture. Any active water or moisture issue should be addressed before insulation work is planned.

Remembering cold floors from last winter? Send Summit Insulation Services a message now, while there is still time to investigate before the next one.

An attic is not simply a place to add more insulation and walk away.

Good attic performance depends on the whole assembly. Insulation, air sealing, and the intended ventilation path need to work together. Covering one area without understanding the others can miss the real comfort problem or create a new concern.

That is why a proper conversation starts with the house, not with a one-size-fits-all answer. What are you noticing downstairs? Where is air likely moving? How is the attic designed to manage heat and moisture?

If your upstairs is difficult to keep comfortable, Summit Insulation Services can help you look at the bigger picture before winter.

Ask Summit about an attic or upstairs comfort concern.

Winter may still feel far away. The project calendar knows better.

August begins the busiest stretch for many homeowners who want insulation work considered before heating season. Starting early gives everyone time to understand the area, discuss site readiness, and plan the work properly.

If you already know about a cold room, drafty corner, uncomfortable basement, or renovation that needs insulation, there is no advantage in waiting for the first hard cold snap to begin asking questions.

Reach out to Summit Insulation Services now to talk through your project and timing. A good plan starts before the weather forces the issue.

Start the project conversation now, before the fall schedule fills.

Small air leaks rarely make a big announcement. They usually leave clues.

On a breezy day, pay attention around window and door trim, along baseboards, and where pipes or other services pass through exterior areas. A slight draft, moving curtain, or room that changes temperature quickly can point to a place worth investigating.

This is not about pulling your house apart or guessing at a repair. It is about noticing patterns before winter makes them much harder to ignore. Properly selected and installed spray foam can help insulate and limit air movement in suitable parts of a home.

Feeling a draft you cannot explain? Tell Summit where you notice it, and we can start with the right questions.

Message Summit with the location and conditions where a draft is noticeable.

There is a good time to talk about insulation during a renovation: before the walls close.

When framing is open, the details are visible. That makes it easier to look at the full area, plan around penetrations and awkward spaces, and choose an insulation approach that suits the assembly before drywall changes the conversation.

If you are building an addition, finishing a basement, or opening walls for a major renovation, bring insulation into the plan early. It is a small scheduling decision that can make the project much easier to coordinate.

August is where summer comfort and winter planning meet.

Around Gretna, we can still have hot afternoons while cooler mornings begin to hint at what is ahead. Good insulation does not choose a season. It helps slow heat movement so your home can stay more comfortable through both summer heat and winter cold.

Take a walk through your home this week. Does one room heat up much faster than the others? Does the upstairs take longer to cool down? Those comfort differences are worth paying attention to now.

If your home has rooms that never seem to match, send Summit Insulation Services a message. August is a practical time to start the conversation before colder weather and the busy fall season arrive.
