The slow way to scent a room. 🌿

A pot of water, citrus, herbs from the garden, and whatever warm spice is in the cupboard. Set it low, let it go, and the whole house softens. Some evenings call for a candle. Some call for this.

What would you put in yours?

Welcome, Gossamer Wings

The very first candle in our collaboration series with Nova Scotian artist Holly Carr.

Hand poured in Fall River, topped with fluorite for clarity and calm, and wrapped in one of Holly's gorgeous original paintings.

Light her slowly. let the dragonfly remind you that beautiful things are often the most delicate.

Lily of the Valley is a symbol of magic in folklore often linked to happiness and purity. Fairy tales view the bell-shaped blossoms as cups and fairy ladders. These tiny white bells smell beautiful, but are very poisonous.

Where alchemy meets art.

I was an admirer of Holly Carr, long before Wild Witch Potager was even an idea. Holly grew up in Fall River (my hometown), attended NSCAD, and began a career and life in the Annapolis Valley where she lives and creates colorfully and entirely in tune with nature. Her silk paintings are pure joy captured on fabric. When I conceptualized this series of candles, I knew no one could capture the essence of Wild Witch Potager better than Holly. Collaborating with her for the Silk & Shadow collection is a full-circle moment combining a piece of home, a kindred spirit, and a shared love of nature and art.

A bit about Holly Carr.

Holly is a nationally recognized Nova Scotian artist known for her large-scale silk paintings and immersive performances. Her work has been featured in galleries across Canada and in collaborations with numerous arts organizations, bringing a unique blend of fantasy and naturalism to the contemporary art scene.

So incredibly excited to be attending Holly Carr’s painting workshop this weekend!

To celebrate, I’m bringing a little piece of the potager with me.

Each participant will receive a complimentary Gossamer Wings candle to take home. I can’t wait to create alongside everyone. I’m ready for a weekend of art, magic, and wonderful company!
