I thoroughly enjoyed speaking and presenting to the lovely people of Terence Bay and surrounding areas about management strategies of Japanese Knotweed. This was the first time for me presenting at a formal event but you were all incredibly welcoming which made it very easy.

Some absolutely brilliant questions as well. You were all certainly keeping me on my toes. The learning never stops!

It's a daunting undertaking but very encouraging to see communities pulling together to tackle it.

Kudos!

Oh... And thanks for cookies and coffee! ☺️
Big thanks to Lucy Sharratt for organizing the event.

It's that time of the year to poke some holes and get the lawn prepped for the winter.

Fall is the perfect time for Core Aeration. It's a great way to help the lawn recover from summer stress and get air and moisture down into the soil profile. This assists in feeding the soil biome, discourages disease and promotes beneficial microbial development.

All of this helps root development and strengthens the turf prior to winter giving it a great start in Spring.

If you're looking to put down any fall fertilizers, post aeration is the perfect time to do it. Homogeneous, organic based fertilizers are excellent for over winter as they don't force growth, feed soil life and mostly stay dormant until the spring to provide a slow feed as the soil temperatures rise and the turf starts to wake up.

Post aeration ensures the fertilizer gets where it needs to be, in the soil!

Looking to give your soil a little extra love? Microbial soil drenches are a great addition at the time of aeration. A potent mix of Vermicast, Humic Acid, Molasses, Kelp, Mycorrhizae Fungi (Live) and a Nitrogen Fixing bacteria called Azotobacter Diazotrophicus.
This is also fantastic for garden and veggie beds!

Get out there and get your hands in some soil! 😊
