Also known as the "Safety standard for electrical installations" specifies the code that covers the installation of wiring systems and equipment.

Another way to view the difference between Part I and Part II is that Part I applies to installations on private property while Part II applies to installations on public property

The Canadian code allows two methods for sizing conductors:

Using the Tables of the code
Calculating ampacity using the Method described in IEEE 835, Standard Power Cable Capacity Tables. In any case, you must use this method to determine the ampacity of nickel or nickel-clad conductors.
