Hi Angle Rescue training. HCRS and HFX Fire is now using the crane for training purposes, as they should be. In the past, the city had expected our carpenters and labourers to handle these situations, which was simply unrealistic.

High-angle rescue is a specialized job requiring dedicated training and experience. Expecting construction workers to perform such high-risk operations—potentially endangering both themselves and the injured—based solely on a brief annual course was not only unreasonable, but dangerous.

Someone told me that in July of 2024 Halifax had the 2nd most amount of cranes up per capita in all of North America.

I Asked ChatGPT if this was true and this was its response:
