The Holman Crew would like to give everyone a little tid bit ... most newer homes have a frost free water hydrant installed in Their homes , these are so You dont have to turn a shut off valve and drain Your outside tap every winter . it suppose to do it automatically when turned off outside . BUT .... We replace alot of these taps every Spring .. from freezing and splitting .. biggest issue... leaving the garden hose connected over the Winter .. by doing this the tap cannot drain out automatically and they freeze and split .. so just remove Your garden hoses and avoid the headache .. :)

Another little reno the Holman Crew did was We were asked to rough in a new washer box in the basement , so We opened up the wall behind a downstairs washroom and hooked up a new washer box , drains and water lines .. now all ready for laundry ... :)

Another little project the Holman Crew took on .. Client was taking care of His own Plumbing for years . So many items were added to His water system .. at first it was very confusing to Us , But NOT to The Client ...lol .. He knew exactly how it all was supposed to work , but We were asked to simplify everything , so BY removing some un needed equipment and piping We hopefully made it a little easier to work on in the future ... :)

Evening , been a busy Summer so far for the Holman Crew , this is a little reno We did , Client wanted to add a sink downstairs but drains were in the ceiling .. No problem We added a nice little sink pump unit and problem solved.. :)

Hope everyone is doing well , here is a little project We did today for one of Our Clients . They bought a filter unit , tank and water drinking tap ( for kitchen sink ) and asked Us to instal it . We dont install many of these units , but They are very important and useful to many People to purify Their drinking water . We had no room under the kitchen sink so We had to become creative and install unit on next level below kitchen sink . :)

Here is a little project Our Client wanted to add a sink in Their basement , but didn't want to add a pump to it . So We broke up floor , tied into existing drain line , and re cemented the floor. Problem solved .. lol ..

*** UP DATE *** Well its been about a week and what a week . Thanks To ALL of You a lot has changed. What I seen happen with My post was very humbling . The love , suggestions and support was mind blowing . My Sons and I wanted to thank Everyone from the bottom of Our hearts for all of Your time and effort ..
Within days of the post and how Everyone came together to support Us , I was contacted By one of the Owners . She was very Professional and She was looking into it . We stayed in contact and She handled it very quickly to figure out what happened and corrected it . In short I received payment in FULL for the work We did.
I would like to thank Her for all She did how She handled it so quickly with in the Company . I hope Everyone continues to support the new store on Sackville Dr. or at least try them out for Them selves . The store treated Us very good and very friendly the whole time We did work there , I wish Them well .
With that ** THANKS ** My heart goes out to all of You for how You all stepped up .. supported Myself and My Sons , in Our time of need , Thank you .. Richard / Holman Plumbing

I don't usually complain about to much , but this really has been bugging Me. Last Oct I was called from by a Fella ( wont mention any names ) who represented Salvatore Pizza in Quebec . They were opening a new restaurant on Sackville Dr. Right in My backyard . Being a Sackville based business I was interested in helping them out .
The restaurant could not open as the wrong size kitchen sink was installed in the building of the store. I was asked to remove the double commercial sink and install a new triple comp sink and second set of taps . It was not an easy job but We wanted to help out and do the work . We came in the next morning and started by removing the old sink and taps. We tried to install the new sink and second set of taps , but noting lined up . The old grease trap was cemented into the floor and was in the way of the new sink. We told the Representative onsite from Salvatore Pizza from Quebec what needed to be done. He agreed and We had to jack hammer up the grease trap and move it . After renting a jack hammer and getting the old grease trap out, we cemented the hole back in . But the grease trap was too tall for the new sink , again We told the Contact on site ( from Salvatore Pizza) We needed a low profile grease trap going forward. He asked if We could find one. We called around and found one. told Him the price and He said go a head . So We went and picked it up , installed it with new piping and fittings. It was very late now so We left that night and came back next morning to finish up . We did it , got the store done so They could pass Their inspection to sell Food and open on time .
Well than the fun started .. We submitted Our bill to Head Office in Quebec... and in short ... I talked to many Employees from Salvatore Pizza ( In accounts payable ) who kept passing the buck or had to talk to someone else .. etc .. etc. Also passed to Salvatore Construction ... who didnt do anything either .. here it is May ... cant get any answers , phone calls returned to try and get My invoice paid . I have not given up or stop trying , but wanted to let ALL My Friends , Family , Contractor Friends .. and other Business to be weary of This so called Family Run Business from Quebec , what My experience was like dealing with Them ... Its been a while since We put up a post but We have been busy and working away . Here is a job We just finished where We installed a sink pump / tank system . Now Our Client can have a sink in Their basement where it has to be pumped up to drain . Have a good weekend ..

WHEN IT ALL STARTED ....

For many years I worked for many Companies in construction and service. But always preferred service work over construction for some reason . I worked for many companies in Nova Scotia mostly doing Plumbing repair work learning from some of the best service Plumbers in Halifax. They trained Me the Old School secrets along with modern ways of doing Plumbing. I was lucky to have such great Teachers. I also went to Northern Manitoba for 2 years where I would fly in to Reserves and stay for days or a week at a time and work on Plumbing issues. It was experiences I will never forget. But when the time came I came back home to NS.

I was layed off in the winter and that is when I decided to be my own boss. So I opened and started to work for myself. It was a real struggle but I loved being My own Boss and dealing with the Clients. Good or bad I stuck with it ... and there was some bad to .. lol .. but I am stubburn and wanted to finish what I started years before. Now today I continue to do My own thing, not as big as I once was, but I still meet and greet the Clients, Friends and Family everyday that first drew Me to this style of life. So thanks to ALL of You who were there and continue to be there in My everyday Life... :) Thanks Richard Holman
