One of the best parts of a new build is the fresh start.

An empty space holds a lot of potential. Before the furniture moves in, before life gets busy, there’s an opportunity to imagine how the home will actually feel to live in.

We had some fun visualizing this living space and bringing a little more personality into the room. Amazing how quickly a blank canvas can start to feel warm, inviting, and lived in with the right layout and design touches.

Islands are funny. You spend months on the drawings, pick the stone, argue about the overhang, debate whether five stools is too many or not enough. Then the house gets lived in and it turns out the island is where everything actually happens. Coffee in the morning. Laptop open in the afternoon. Wine poured in the evening. Kids doing homework in the middle of all of it. The rest of the kitchen is doing real work, but the island is doing the social work.
