Huge congratulations to our colleagues Jessica Pitman, Peter L'Esperance, Luke Ruitenberg, Tom Tzagarakis, EIT and everyone else for participating in the Blue Nose Marathon this weekend! 🎉🏃

The Medavie Blue Nose Marathon, affectionately known as “The People’s Marathon,” celebrated its 23rd edition this year and once again brought together participants of all ages and abilities from across the region and beyond. As Atlantic Canada’s largest annual running and walking event, the marathon celebrated healthy living, determination, and community spirit across a spectacular course through Halifax and Dartmouth.

We are proud to see Jess, Peter, Luke, and Tom take part in such an inspiring community event and represent the importance of staying active both inside and outside the workplace. Well done to all four of you on this amazing achievement! 👏

We were excited to be part of today’s ECO Canada Halifax EP Chapter: Innovation in Sustainable Natural Resources event, bringing together leaders and innovators from across Atlantic Canada’s natural resources and energy sectors. Natural Forces was pleased to join the conversation on the future of sustainable energy, collaboration, and innovation in our region.

It was also great to see Amy Pellerin, our Director of Canadian Development, back on the panel discussion 🎉. Amy joined Derek Estabrook, Atlantic Energy Transformation: Insights from Major Projects and Nicolle Jaramillo, PMP® Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance and Net Zero Atlantic where they shared insights on renewable energy projects, partnerships, and upcoming opportunities as Atlantic Canada continues moving toward a cleaner energy future.

A big thank you to ECO Canada for the opportunity for Natural Forces to be part of such an important discussion. We enjoyed a great day of learning, sharing, and connecting with others, working to shape the future of sustainable natural resources.

As part of celebrating Black History Month, Natural Forces was pleased to invite Craig Marshall Smith to speak with our team and share his experiences and insights into the history, culture, and contributions of African Nova Scotians and the Black community in Canada. A retired RCMP sergeant with 28 years of service, Craig is also a former president and board chair of the Black Cultural Society and Centre for Nova Scotia. His visit provided a valuable opportunity for our team to deepen our understanding of the achievements, resilience, and leadership within these communities.

At Natural Forces, we work closely with Indigenous communities and are committed to building respectful and meaningful relationships with all communities. It was an inspiring session that reminded us to respect all communities and to keep learning from the different histories and perspectives that shape Canada.

Thank you, Craig, for taking the time to share your knowledge and experiences with us. We also thank McInnes Cooper for kindly providing the space for the event.

As part of Black History Month, it was inspiring to learn about African Nova Scotian history, achievements, and contributions. Craig has been documenting and sharing these stories for over 35 years, and has written several books, including:

-The Ultimate African Heritage Quiz Book: Maritime Edition
-Appointed to the Order: Black Atlantic Canadians for Outstanding Contributions to Province and Country

It was a valuable session that reminded us to respect all communities and to keep learning from different histories and experiences that shape Canada.

🎉 Concrete milestone, solid team! Here’s a photo of our Irish team standing at the very start of something big! ⚡

The turbine foundation has been successfully poured at the Tullyhaw Wind Project, marking a key construction milestone. Achieving this major step on our 4.26 MW single-turbine project represents a significant moment for our entire team. As our first project in Ireland, this step represents not just progress on site, but the beginning of a long-term commitment to delivering clean energy in the region.

This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible dedication and hard work of our Natural Forces Irish team, partners Matheson LLP and Flogas Ireland, contractors and the local community. Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this moment. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues to take shape! 🍀

Last week, the Natural Forces Operations Team attended the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) Operators Summit 2026, joining industry leaders, operators, and technology providers from across Canada to discuss the evolving landscape of renewable energy.

With this year’s theme, “Coming of Age,” the conference focused on the maturation of Canada’s wind fleet as projects reach 20–30 years of operation. Key discussions highlighted aging infrastructure, increasing electricity demand, life extension and repowering strategies, and the growing integration of energy storage to enhance grid stability and site performance.

AI-driven monitoring and predictive maintenance tools were also a major topic, highlighting how data-backed solutions are helping operators improve reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize long-term asset performance.

The sessions provided practical, field-based insights that align closely with our operational priorities. We value the opportunity to collaborate with peers and partners across the industry and look forward to applying these learnings across our renewable energy portfolio.

We were pleased to participate in the Saint Mary's University Career Fair at the Fuel 4 the Future booth, engaging with students interested in careers in renewable energy and sustainability. Gracyn McLaughlin and Chanel Smith from our Canadian Development team, along with Rohit Biswas, EIT, EMIT from Atlantica Centre for Energy connected with students to share insights into the clean energy sector, shared information on career pathways, and highlighted how innovation and indigenous partnership in the renewable energy sector are shaping the future of energy.

We would like to extend our thanks to Atlantica Centre for Energy and Fuel 4 the Future for inviting and collaborating with us on this initiative. We also thank Saint Mary’s University for hosting a well-organized and impactful career fair and all the students who took the time to connect with our team.

Wskijnu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency and Natural Forces are proud to share an important milestone for clean energy in Nova Scotia.

Phase 1 of the Benjamins Mill Wind Project has officially reached Commercial Operation as of December 16, 2025.

Developed, constructed, owned, and operated through a partnership between Wskijnu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency Ltd.,representing the 13 Mi’kmaw bands in Nova Scotia and Natural Forces, this 34 MW project includes eight wind turbines located in West Hants Regional Municipality.

This project demonstrates what’s possible when Indigenous leadership, meaningful partnerships, and responsible renewable energy development come together. Once fully operational, Benjamins Mill Wind Project will:
• Generate enough clean electricity to power 13,000 Nova Scotian homes
• Support local jobs and businesses
• Provide long-term tax revenue for the municipality
• Contribute to Nova Scotia’s goal of 80% renewable electricity by 2030

We’re grateful for the support from the Canada Infrastructure Bank/ Banque de l'infrastructure du Canada and Resources Canada (NRCan)'s SREP program, as well as the Province of Nova Scotia, whose ongoing support helped bring this project to completion.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this milestone possible. This is partnership-driven clean energy in action!!!

As we wrap up another year, we can’t help but feel grateful. 2025 has been full of great projects, strong partnerships, moments of challenge and success and most importantly, a dedicated team that showed up every day and worked incredibly hard.

This holiday season, alongside all the hard work, we also made time to have a little fun.🎄From holiday games to fun moments, these experiences reminded us why we enjoy working together.

That same sense of teamwork and care extended beyond our office walls. A big thank you to those who contributed to our Feed Nova Scotia donation this year. It's always amazing to see the team come together to support our community in such a meaningful way. ⭐

To our partners, supporters, and the communities we work with, thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year. We truly couldn’t do this without you! Here’s to a great year behind us and an even better one ahead. 💚

Wind turbine tours are always a hit, but this time, we had a little different request for our project tour!

As part of the Nunacor Development Corporation Energy Forum in October, Nunacor invited us to host a tour of our Mary’s Harbour Solar Project with Battery Storage System, which also includes a hydro plant. It was the perfect opportunity for us to showcase how different renewable technologies can work together to power communities with clean energy. ☀️💧

Our amazing Project Manager, Neil Heffern, P. Eng., MEL, led the tour with great enthusiasm, making it both interactive and informative. Judging by the smiling faces in the photos, everyone had a great time learning about green energy and seeing the project up close!

We’re so grateful for this opportunity and also the curiosity and community support that makes events like this possible.
