A decaying birch removal and a cedar hedge trim that we think turned out great!

Celebration post! 🎉

Recently our owner Garrett was able to take and pass his ISA certification.

For those of you who don’t know, ISA stands for International Society of Arboriculture and is the standard for tree care professionalism. Taking the 200 question test and achieving a minimum of 76% to pass is a huge accomplishment.

To celebrate Garrett’s success we are doing a small give away that will be posted shortly so stay tuned!

A very unique opportunity here at NOTS recently!

The Hornepayne Snowmobile Club asked us to help clear a log jam, down river from their newly installed bridge.

The log jam left untreated could have resulted in damage to the new bridge. We set out with our canoe and chest waders to see what we could do about clearing the jam.

We learned a lot about chainsaws operating in the water, and we also only got wet up to our knees! With a couple slips that led to heavy waders and wet socks— we managed to clear a substantial amount of the debris, resulting in what we thought was a very successful day.

Thank you so much to the volunteers of the Hornepayne snowmobile club who made this day much easier!

Recently we had the pleasure of removing this rather hefty Manitoba maple in White River. The folks at Ed’s live bait shop came to say goodbye to a tree planted by Ed himself that grew as the family did.

Unfortunately this old girl decided to grow right towards the house and grow large. As well as start to have some rather large dieback that were proving to be dangerous to anyone walking around it.

We were able to safely bring the old tree down from over the house and deck while leaving a nice stump momento for the family to sit around and reminisce!

If you have a tree that has over grown its area or is feeling somewhat hazardous give the professionals at Northern Ontario Tree Service a call!

A recent hedge repair and trim that I was lucky enough to bring my oldest daughter to “document”
She is one of those photographers that takes a million of the same shots to get the perfect one!

This hedge had some broken tops after the heavy snow falls this winter. With some arbor-tie and tip reductions, followed by an all around face trim and overall height reduction we were able to bring it back to nice neat hedge!
