Throwing it back again to a Haveman Tree Plant from the 1994. The job really hasn't changed much — just the faces and the names.

To all of our planters looking forward to the 2026 Tree Plant we ask that you continue to keep an eye on your email inboxes as information continues to come your way !

Sarah in the office would also like to remind everyone to finish up their Online Training before next Friday.

Have you ever wondered just how far North we are willing to work ?

Here's a couple pictures from taken by our worker Spencer from a remote camp in the Northwest Territories. Last fall Spencer, along with Darren, Corey, & Tyler went up for a couple months setting up a camp for an Exploration Diamond Drill Program.

Have you ever been Cone Picking with us ?

Dave Haveman, one of our founders, was out in February picking cones with one of our employees, Traven. Once loggers have gone out and harvested an area we go in and pick cones off of the left behind branches and tops of trees. We are most often collecting buckets of Spruce or Pine cones.

The cones contain seeds that we sell to Northern Ontario nurseries to grow trees for our future forests !

Dave and Traven spent two 2 days collecting branches to be cleaned in order to gather seed.

For anyone has time on their hands and is looking to make a little money, feel free to reach out to [email protected] !

Tree Planting has been the heart of this company since the 80s.

It's already time for us to start gearing up for the Tree Plant here in Kakabeka.

We're melting off the snow and getting ready for another season in the bush. Our mechanics, Corey & Henri, are inspecting every vehicle of the fleet in the shop. John, James, Tom, & Carter are all working away at various projects in the warehouse.

If you've applied with us and are waiting to hear back please continue to be patient, we are working our way through.

Here's a fantastic smoky morning view from Kapuskasing, courtesy of Supervisor Ted Gilverson.

Working in the Gordon Cosens and Black Spruce forests back in November and December of 2025 Haveman Brothers ran a successful Prescribed Burn Contract. In that time 9000 hectares of slash were managed across roughly 110 blocks.

If you're looking for someone to handle some prescribed burning, you can contact us at [email protected]

If you're looking to get on a crew - be on alert for future contracts !

Supervisor Scott McPherson has been on rotation out at an exploration camp in Northern Manitoba. We took over management in 2022 and things have been running smoothly ever since.

The only way in and out of this camp is by air! So, our most recent camp project was to construct an ice runway out on the lake to land small planes.

Here are some snapshots of how the work is going!

As the snow falls around us in Kakabeka today why not post a winter throwback?

We've been doing bush work for a long time! Here we have a small crew doing some brush thinning in Northern Ontario in 1987.

Have you ever been on a brush cutting contract with us?
