Currently, we are seeking an energetic and driven Junior or Intermediate Estimator/Project Manager to join our team for an exciting long-term career opportunity.
The successful proponent will be working with the Project Team in Kamloops, B.C. However, the project(s) will be spread around the province.
This position is ideal for a candidate with some construction related project management or project coordinator experience. Candidates with the required skills, who are able to demonstrate applicable experience from other industries, are welcomed to apply.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Working with the Senior Project Manager on the following:
• Scope control and design review
• Comprehension and interpretation of contract documents
• Review contracts
• Manage project financial performance
• Estimating and tracking of project costs
• Estimate changes
• Purchase materials and equipment
• Develop, review and update project schedules
• Communication & collaboration with project team to manage the project
• Maintain a good relationship with suppliers, consultants, clients and end users
• Track and manage deficiencies
• Manage, compile, review project close out documentation including manuals & as-built drawings
• Participate and contribute to project team's lessons learned and continuous improvement

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Strong to excellent proficiency in the following skills are a requirement:
• Teamwork
• Attention to detail
• Written and verbal communication
• Organization
• MS Office

Experience / Qualification in any of the following is an asset:
• PMP, Project Management, Project Coordination, and/or Estimating
• Electrical trade, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technologist
• Accubid

We are excited to announce that the Barnhartvale Community Association is back to planning events and being available for rentals!

To celebrate we are hosting a Welcome back pancake breakfast Saturday September 24th from 8 - 11 am at the hall.

Stop in have breakfast and checkout this great space that we have in our community.

Breakfast is available by donation. All funds raised will be donated to the Marchant family. If you don’t know Tom Marchant is a father of 3 who is currently battling brain cancer. He has been a pillar of our community for many years and was a great help with our previous Take Your Top Off For Tata’s events. Excavator Operator – Shallow Underground Utilities (BC Hydro, Telus, Shaw)
Harrison Industrial Contracting is an industrial electrical company specializing in civil underground infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and municipal electrical work.
We are looking for a full-time excavator operator who is highly experienced in working around existing underground utilities, near roadways, and other workers. You will most often be running a mini-excavator (35-50 size), however larger equipment may also be used from time to time. This position requires a well-rounded person who is “on the team” and physically fit as you will be required to also help out on the ground as needed.
Knowledge of BC Hydro standards would be a great asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safe and efficient excavation of trenches, installation of conduits, and related works.
• Adhere to BC Hydro civil underground construction standards.
• Follow safe work practices.
• Daily machine maintenance. (L**e, fuel, clean.)
• Daily inspection. (Safety, damage, repairs needed.)
• Clear communication with co-workers.
• Participate in planning the work to be as efficient as possible.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental protection.
• Friendly attitude and helpful towards the client, the public, other contractors, and fellow workers.
• Emergency call-out work may be required from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum two years experience working around underground utilities, roadways, and other workers.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Class 1 would be a bonus.
• Knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements applicable to excavation.
• Ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Physically fit and versatile. Must be able to help outside the machine as needed.
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
