Forty years ago, Kimco Controls started as a small Kelowna partnership. Today, we're the exclusive Delta Controls dealer across BC's Interior, the only company in the region offering it.

But this milestone has always been about more than the technology. It's about the people: longtime employees who've become part owners, apprentices we're training up, and community partners like the Boys and Girls Club of the Okanagan.

Two people, two very different tenures, one shared reason to celebrate.

Blaire has spent 2 years keeping our automation construction projects on track. Chris has spent 28 years showing up for our service clients, carrying knowledge about this industry you simply can't fast-track.

We marked both milestones the same way: a round of golf at Kelowna Springs, then lunch on the patio at Peak Cellars, vineyards and mountains in every direction.

Blaire, thanks for being someone this team can count on. Chris, 28 years is nearly the full history of Kimco itself, and we're grateful you've spent so much of it with us.

At Kimco, our projects take many forms, but they all share one thing in common: helping build stronger communities.

We're proud to have worked on the building automation systems at the new Akisqnuk Multipurpose Centre for ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation, coordinating the heating, cooling, and ventilation across the Health Centre, administrative spaces, and Community/Band Hall.

Behind every system is a simple purpose: helping create spaces where people can work, receive care, gather, and connect.

We're grateful for the chance to be part of this project, and to keep working alongside communities across BC to build a stronger future, one project at a time.

Congratulations to Aiden Drew, this year's Kimco bursary recipient!

Aiden is heading into his third year as an Electrician Apprentice, and he's earning it every step of the way. Alongside his schooling, he's putting in the work on ongoing safety training, building the skills to become a well-rounded tradesperson.

Turns out our team is just as competitive at co****le as they are dedicated on the job.

We took an afternoon to slow down together: tacos from Charros Takos, ice cream from Sugarbee's, a few rounds of Yahtzee, and a magic show that had everyone talking for days.

Congrats to TJ (Taylor Deodato) on earning his Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification, and with a 92% no less!

We love seeing our apprentices put in the work and watching it pay off. ICBA gave TJ a $50 Home Depot gift card for the win, and we're chipping in a $200 bursary to help him keep levelling up his skills.
