Once the cleanup and demolition phase is complete, the rebuilding process begins. That’s where we come in.

We work with homeowners and insurance providers to restore damaged spaces with thoughtful planning, quality craftsmanship, and a focus on long-term functionality.

Sometimes a space just needs a new purpose.

This was an old family room that had run its course. The retired couple who owns this home decided it was time to do something different with it, and when they sat down to think about how they actually wanted to spend their time, the answer was clear: they love watching movies.

So that's what we built around.

This was a fun project for the Kapiti Built team, and the result speaks for itself. A space that went from dated and underused to exactly what this family needed for this season of life.

Dark cherry cabinets, dated finishes, and a layout that felt heavier than it needed to.

That was the starting point for this kitchen renovation.

The goal was a full reset. Brighter, more functional, and built for everyday use. The upper cabinets were removed and replaced with white shaker cabinetry to open up the space and draw the eye upward. Natural oak lowers and the island bring warmth back in without adding visual weight.

Quartz countertops and a full slab backsplash tie everything together, while brushed brass hardware adds contrast in a way that feels considered.

The result is a kitchen that feels lighter, functions better, and supports how the space is used day to day.

For families building their forever homes, it’s these decisions that define how a kitchen performs over time.

A well-built suite isn't just extra square footage. It's a fully functional living space designed to work independently.

That means a proper kitchen, a dedicated bathroom, a layout with real flow, and enough privacy that whoever lives there actually feels at home, whether that's family, a long-term tenant, or a guest.

We plan every suite around how it will be used over time. The finishes, the layout, the separation from the main home, all of it matters.
