Final photos from the Child Care Centre at ✨

With the addition of 24 new infant–toddler spaces, the centre now offers 110 licensed child care spaces, helping meet a critical need in our region.

Located at YLW, the centre supports families who live and work near the airport, reduces barriers to employment, and strengthens key industries like aviation and aerospace.

This milestone reflects strong collaboration between the YMCA, , , YLW, and the Province of B.C., with provincial and federal support through the ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund.

Bulk excavation underway preparing for footings and foundation pour.

The Aerospace Training Facility, made possible through a partnership between the BPL Legacy Association and Okanagan College - will expand aerospace education in our region. Built alongside the this 42,000 sq. ft. facility will feature modern workshops, classrooms, and a full hangar, giving students hands-on experience in real industry environments. With this expansion, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programs will grow from 30 to 140 students each year.

Today’s ribbon cutting marked the end of a project made possible by many dedicated partners.
