Kemptville main bathroom: This bathroom started with the builder-grade basics—standard finishes and minimal character. With some thoughtful upgrades like new tile, fresh paint, updated fixtures, and custom details, the space now feels elevated, functional, and completely transformed.

A standout feature is the custom-built solid walnut vanity, designed not only to add warmth and richness, but to completely transform the storage in this small bathroom.

We also added updated lighting in the shower space, bringing both style and function—brightening the area while creating a clean, spa-like feel.

Day 8: Finishing Touches ✨

Today we wrapped up the project with the final details and finishing touches. From fixtures to final clean-up, everything is completed and ready to go.

Bringing all the elements together at the end ensures a polished, professional result and a bathroom that’s ready to be enjoyed.

Day 7: Grouting Day

Today we completed the grout on both the wall tile and floor tile, tying everything together and cleaning up both surfaces. We also did the first coat of paint on the walls.

Careful application and a thorough clean-up at this stage help ensure a high level finish.

Day 6: Finishing Work in Progress

Today we painted the ceiling and completed the floor tile installation. With the prep work done, the tile was installed carefully to ensure a clean, level finish.

Step by step, the space is getting closer to completion as the final elements come together.

Day 5: Tiling Progress Continues

Today we finished tiling the side walls and began preparing for the floor tile installation. An uncoupling membrane was laid to create a strong, stable base and help ensure long-term durability.

Each step at this stage is all about setting things up properly so the final installation comes together cleanly and performs well over time.

Day 4: The Finishing Work Begins 👏🏼

Today the focus is on the accent wall tile. We set out the tile template, carefully planned the layout for a double herringbone pattern, and began cutting and installing each piece.

This type of detailed tile work takes time, precision, and careful attention to every cut and placement to ensure a clean, professional finish.

Day 3: Prep Work Continues 💡

Today we continued getting the space ready for the finishing stages. We completed drywall repairs, installed a pot light in the shower, and applied primer paint to prepare the walls for the next steps.

A lot of the progress during a renovation happens in these preparation stages, and each step helps ensure the final result looks clean, polished, and professionally finished.

Day 2: Progress Behind the Scenes 👀

Today we’re focusing on some key prep work that sets the stage for the finished space. We installed insulation around the tub, put up Prova Board tile backer in the shower area, completed drywall repairs, and framed in the opening for the inset medicine cabinet.

These steps might not be the most visible parts of the renovation, but they’re essential for creating a solid, long-lasting foundation before the finishing work begins. Stay tuned as the bathroom continues to take shape!

Day 1: Demo Day 🔨

Every renovation starts with a clean slate. Yesterday we removed the old bathroom to prepare for the transformation ahead.

We arrive on site with our tool trailer and dump trailer so everything we need is ready to go and all demolition materials can be removed efficiently as we work. Keeping the space organized and the mess under control is a big part of a smooth renovation.

On Day 1, we completed the full demolition, removed all the old fixtures and tile flooring, cleaned out the old insulation, and installed the new bathtub and prepared for the new plumbing.

Follow along this week as we take you through the entire bathroom renovation process from start to finish!
