At the last AGM, the members voted to have a new work bench for the shop constructed. Club member Mark Brown agreed to build it and he was very ably assisted by fellow member, Pete DesRoches. The bench is a very sturdily built from maple and it has a moxon vice on it and plenty of holes for dogs to support work. A wood vice will be added soon. And, good news, the table was completed under budget! Nice work guys!

Longtime member of the Wood Hobby Club, Pierre Lavallée, constructed this beautiful planter box as the Club’s contribution for the upcoming Base Spring Craft Show. He is also making a children’s picnic table. Nice job, Pierre. Someone is going to win big with this lovely planter!

Our membership renewals will start up very shortly for the 24/25 season. BooKing (the software we use) will be set up and ready to go starting the 26th of Aug 2024 and not Before. I also need to get the new forms printed off and down to the shop this week, they are all for last year at the moment. All members must go into the shop and sign a new membership application and a wavier for the 24/25 season. The Membership Application must be brought to the Base gym and is paid for there by Cash or CC. Supervisors must sign a New VSA for the season as well. Wood Rack and Tool locker fees are also due and are paid at the Club. September 3rd the day after Labor day, is our next Shop Clean-up Night. This is a good time to attend the Cleanup & Maint Night and pay up your Dues. We are also looking at doing a Fall AGM on October 13th so mark your calendars. We will need to vote in some new committee members. If anyone in uniform wants to volunteer for the presidency, please let me know.

Memberships (paid at the gym):
Regular: $30 plus tax
Ordinary: $50 plus tax
Associate: $100 plus tax

Wood Racks are $50 each and Tool Lockers are $25 each (Free for supervisors) and are paid for at the club.

A friendly reminder that wood rack and tool locker fees are due next month. Wood rack fees are $50 and locker fees are $25. These are payable right at the Shop.
As well, membership fees are due. You must have the supervisor fill out the membership form and sign a new waiver. The membership form is then taken to the gym front desk where you pay the applicable fee.
Finally, if you’re a supervisor then you will be required to fill out another VSA form as well.

A small table constructed by Mark, one of our Club members. He used some of the wormy maple we have in stock. He also used Wenge and Padauk for trim and feet, finishing it off with a semi gloss poly, Great Job Mark.
