Freezing rain mix on the way! We keep some salt in our warehouse despite the ongoing salt shortage. As always we try to be proactive with salting and as the precipitation will begin with rain and then turn to freezing rain we'll have to refrain from pre-salting most properties as the rain will wash the salt off prior to the freezing rain event. If you have to travel, plan ahead, take your time, and if the travel isn't dire - stay home. Go out tonight for a walk with, or without your pets prior to the arrival of the rain throughout the night. Stay safe.

Winter has arrived! Snow squalls are making their through the Region tonight into Wednesday. We'll be out early in the morning clearing lots and salting where needed. In an effort to use less salt we will still maintain a high level of safety for all residents and any visitors. Where specofoed we use less evasive pet friendly salt and cement friendly salt products.

If you maintain your own property, great! Remember to not block furnace vents or sump pump drains! Thursday 6C is expected, and snow piles will melt during the day and refreeze overnight. Keep downspout drains clear and elevate them a fre inches with a brick so they don't freeze solid.

Be smart, and be safe.

With warmer weather in the forecast for a while, it's a good time to collect significant leaves around your property. Why? It limits unwanted pests, especially rats and mice from nesting and possibly making their way indoors.

It's also a good time to check your dryer vents, and clean them so they close flush and don't allow any drafts or space for pests to enter your residence.

It's even a great time to check on your snow shovels and equipment so they will function as intended when the snow stays on the ground!

Safety is always the first priority regardless of the task, job, or past time. After three years, the wheels on one of our mowers were worn down almost smooth so it was time to install some new 'rubber'! Wheels without traction can allow any mower to slip on hills, especially if there is dew on the lawn. To maximize safety it's good to check up as a lawnmower can become unsafe if regular maintenance is lacking. This particular mower uses ball bearing rear wheels making it easier to push. The bearings are not completely sealed and can cause rust, making the mower harder to push if not properly taken care of. All of our equipment every week gets a full wash, safety & maintenance check. Be safe.

Winter will soon be upon us! Book now for your snow removal needs. A lot more seniors have decided to stay at home and not all are able to maintain their property. We offer a set it and forget it service - meaning no snow minimums. We treat all properties like our own. We salt when necessary or in advance of forecast freezing rain, etc. We do our due diligence to be preemptive.

As the trees drop their leaves, we can clean up your property to maintain the health of your yard, and add to a positive visual appearance to the public. We collect leaves, prune trees & shrubs, edge sidewalks, prep gardens and plants for winter. Outdoor maintenance doesn't have to cost a lot. Valued clients, as home maintenance is considered an essential service to maintain a healthy environment for you, your family, and the general public, regular lawn services will continue.
Some property maintenance items such as mulch, fertilizers, and other similar items are available, although in limited quantity. A clean yard is a healthy yard as it limits pests that can get inside your home.

We will conduct primary communication through telephone and email. Our operators will wear a mask when interacting with you outdoors while maintaining 2m distance to stop the spread of COVID-19. Currently, no one at BW Lawn Care is showing symptoms of the virus. Our operators will wear a mask when interacting with you outdoors while maintaining 2m distance. Any gates or handles touched will be wiped down with sanitizer. Operators plagued with seasonal allergies will wear a mask at all times while on your property.

We also understand that some clients may be unemployed during this time, or have had their income severely reduced, so we can limit services, and postpone billing to aid you during this crisis.
