This weekend's lineup is stacked with Seattle International Comedy Competition Winner and Just For Laughs mainstay DINO ARCHIE, Just For Laughs Vancouver performer and Ladner's own DYLAN WILLIAMS, and Canada's Next Top Comic Finalist KYLE JONES.

Food Banks Canada's most recent HungerCount Report found that in 2025, food banks across Canada recorded nearly 2.2 million visits in a single month - double what it was just six years ago.

Needless to say, Canada's food banks are under more pressure than ever right now, with demand growing by the day. The Pender Island Food Bank is no exception.

With Grant embedded in the Pender community almost full-time, we see firsthand how much the Pender Island Food Bank means to the people who live here year-round. Food banks are one of those things that some of us are fortunate to be able to overlook in our day-to-day lives - until you realize just how many families and individuals depend on them, and how much it takes to keep them running.

Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest member, Urban Roots Build Co., and co-founders Grant Gibson and Mark Nowotny.

Urban Roots brings over 30 years of experience building and renovating homes, and was founded on a no pressure, client-first philosophy. They bring a design-build approach that supports projects from concept through completion.

With Grant based here on Pender, their team takes a thoughtful and professional approach to their work. That is something that’s always valued in our community.

They’ve also stepped in as a Champion member, helping support the work of the Chamber and the broader business community at our highest level.

The finishing touches are underway on this Pender Island build, and we couldn't be prouder of how it's come together.

With our Co-Founder Grant based on the island pretty much full-time at this point, every project here feels less like a job and more like an addition to the community. This full custom home build project epitomizes that feeling. Seeing it look like this now after it being an empty lot mere months ago brings a special feeling that never gets old.

There's nothing quite like wrapping up a project on Pender Island.

This custom home on Pender is one we're especially proud of - we had the pleasure of taking this from planning on an empty lot all the way to a beautiful finished product.

With Grant based on the island practically full-time, we're lucky enough to be embedded in the Pender community in a way that most builders aren't. Every project here feels personal.
