Do you like the reason you’re tired?

I am meant to be a creative. I’m meant to use my hands and to work hard. It’s what fulfills me and I can’t picture myself doing much else. I will take the long hours & the exhaustion.

Nothing worthwhile comes easy. If you can look for success and find it in something you love, that’s a win.

Make sure your tired is worth it for you.

We have peony roots!

As the temperatures continue to drop and the days get shorter, it’s time to think about peony roots. Peonies are an excellent perennial. Once established you can expect to get blooms for as long as that plant stays in the ground.

We are offering 3 varieties of peony roots this season. Kings Day, Dutchesse De Nemours, and Sarah Bernhardt. Three super popular varieties that make great additions to your cut flower gardens.

For ordering info please see our website. We ship Canada wide and offer local pickup.

My dahlias are pretty much dead. I still have some sunflowers growing. I might actually get another flush of snapdragons. The heirloom chrysanthemums are thriving and blooming. Everything else is tired. The season is ending.

I can not say enough about this long season of flowers. It’s been incredible. It’s been educational, it’s been exhausting.

I’m so grateful.

Identify invasives: Brown marmorated stink bug

Brown marmorated stink bugs can look like several other bugs found in B.C., but two white stripes on the antennae are a key identification feature.

Other identifying features include:

▪️ One white stripe on each leg
▪️ White and black spots at the base of the abdomen
▪️ About 1.5 cm long with a distinct shield shape

Rough stink bugs and western conifer seed bugs look similar, but neither has the distinctive white stripes on the antennae.

In fall and winter, brown marmorated stink bugs often gather in wooden structures, including homes, in large numbers.

👉 Have you spotted one before? What helped you identify it? 👀
