That’s a furnace filter. We had to (forcefully) remove it because it got sucked into the unit. This was a huge fire hazard and potential for some serious furnace damage. We’re fairly certain dinosaurs roamed the earth the last time this one was changed. You take your vehicle in for an oil change, what makes HVAC service any different?
