Project Showcase: Red Deer Recovery Community

A transformative step in Alberta’s Recovery Community Program – this 75-bed, 45,500 sq.ft. facility offers holistic healing in a modern, modular space.

This purpose-built community fosters hearing through a blend of medical care, social connection, and physical activity.

Constructed primarily off-site, using modular components, the project benefited from accelerated timelines, enhanced quality control, and reduced waste. In collaboration with Synergy Projects, our team emphasized a simple, flexible, and modern design that prioritizes comfort and natural light, featuring clerestory windows in communal areas and thoughtfully placed windows in private spaces. It was important the project offer opportunities for the operator to personalize the interior spaces.

This project is a testament to what’s possible when innovation, compassion, and collaboration come together to support recovery and community well-being. It won an Award of Distinction from the international Modular Building Institute in 2024, recognizing it as a leading example in modular healthcare construction.
