We are looking for an experienced siding installer to fill a full-time position!

Who We Are

Shore Contracting is a small, family-operated business located in Fingal, ON that specializes in building and/or installing custom, modular, mobile, and panel buildings and homes for both residential and commercial applications. We offer our services throughout Southwestern Ontario and have become known as one of the premier installers of modular homes in the area.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Siding Installer

-Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools
-Assemble and disassemble scaffolding
-Occasionally prepare material take-offs
-Complete primarily vinyl siding installations (horizontal and vertical) ranging from renovations to entire homes; ability to install wood board and batten siding an asset but not necessary
-Ability to install soffit, fascia, and eavestrough
-Familiarity with installing synthetic or real stone facade products such as Fusion -Stone or NovikStone also an asset
-Practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
-Demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices
-Clearly and proactively communicate job site conditions and any potential concerns that may affect completion of the job to the Site Supervisor
-Lift and carry heavy objects and other building materials
-Ability to operate motorized equipment such as a boom lift or scissor lift an asset

Experience and Requirements of the Siding Installer

-Minimum 2+ years experience as a Siding Installer within the construction industry
-Broad knowledge and experience in siding installation
-A general understanding of building codes, safety guidelines and regulations
-The ability to read and comprehend blueprints and various construction documents including work orders, change orders, etc.
-Operate and maintain various power and manual tools
-Ability to work at heights
-Must be reliable
-Follow established protection and safety procedures
-Maintain a clean and safe work environment
-Must have excellent problem solving skills
-Ability to work without supervision at times
-Capability to send and receive emails, photos, and documents on a mobile device
-A valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout our service area

Wage Range: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Yesterday we took delivery of the first two factory-built, modular homes from Guildcrest Homes for the new community we are building on the Chippewas of the Thames Reserve in Muncey! This is the first of six homes being set in this phase of the project and it was a beautiful day to start it off!

Did you know that our modular homes by Guildcrest are built indoors? Once constructed, they are transported in sections to the site where they are set on the foundation and knit together. Because they are built in a climate-controlled factory, there is an increased build quality since specialized tools can be used that are typically unavailable to on-site builders, and there are fewer delays due to weather. Here is an example of a modular home being delivered, set and knit. The sections are built at an indoor factory then transported to the site to be put together. Once set, we finish the interior and exterior.
