❓ Today's Trivia: What is the only natural food product that can last for thousands of years without spoiling?

❗Yesterday's Trivia: What is the most expensive spice, hand-harvested from a flower's crimson stigmas?

🌷The answer is Saffron. Which comes from Crocus sativus of the Iridaceae family.

Saffron tastes earthy, grassy, and mildly bitter with a subtle honey-like or floral sweetness.

I learned that the Saffron crocus blooms in the fall. This year, I bought crocus bulbs at Canadian Tire, and surprisingly, one was a saffron crocus, which won't bloom until next fall. I'm excited to see how it goes.

The Chrysanthemum, known as the "Queen of Fall Flowers," includes around 40 wild species and thousands of cultivated varieties in the daisy family. Originating from Greek meaning "gold flower," these aromatic perennials have been cultivated for over 3,000 years and rank just after roses in popularity. While some varieties are edible, not all are safe to consume. Notably, there is no official designation of the chrysanthemum as the November birth flower.

The answer is aquafaba. I just discovered that if you save this liquid and whip it up it turns into a fluff.
