🌟 SPOTLIGHT SUNDAYS! 🌟
This Week: Coyle’s Country Store! 🥜🍎

At ASAP Logistics & Landscaping, we love getting out on the road and discovering the amazing local businesses and destinations that make our communities special!

This week, we had the chance to check out Coyle’s Country Store, a business with more than 100 years of history! 🇨🇦

The story began when Aubrey James Coyle opened a small store and manufacturing plant in Kinglake, Ontario. The sandy soil along the northern shores of Lake Erie provided the fruits and vegetables he processed and sold.

As the family and business grew, they eventually moved to Tillsonburg. In 1924, the business was incorporated as Coyle’s Products Limited. Over the years, Coyle’s expanded into wholesale products, including the Coral Isle roasted peanut brand and Derry Malt instant chocolate powder.

A small nook beside the factory, with just a few barrels of roasted peanuts, eventually became the beginning of the Coyle’s Factory Outlets in the 1970s! 🥜

Growth continued, and in 1979, Coyle’s moved into its present 25,000 sq. ft. facility in South-West Oxford Township.

Today, Coyle’s Country Store continues a proud tradition of quality, freshness, and family values. ❤️

🌱 WHY REGULAR MOWING IS SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR LAWN! 🌱

Think mowing is just about making your yard look neat? Think again! 👀

Regular, properly timed mowing is an important part of maintaining a thick, healthy and resilient lawn. 🌿

Here are some benefits of keeping your grass on a consistent mowing schedule:

🌱 Healthier Growth: Regular mowing encourages your grass to produce new growth and maintain a dense turf.

💪 Stronger Roots: Proper mowing height can help your lawn develop stronger roots and better handle heat and dry conditions.

🚫 Fewer Weeds: A thick, healthy lawn is better able to compete with weeds for sunlight, water and nutrients.

💧 Better Moisture Retention: Proper grass height helps shade the soil and reduce moisture loss.

🍃 Less Lawn Stress: Remember the 1/3 Rule try not to remove more than one-third of the grass blade at a time. Letting grass get extremely long and then cutting it dramatically can put unnecessary stress on the turf.

♻️ Natural Fertilizer: When conditions are suitable, leaving small grass clippings on the lawn allows them to break down and return nutrients to the soil.

And remember, weekly mowing doesn't necessarily mean every 7 days regardless of conditions! 🌦️ Grass grows at different rates depending on temperature, rainfall and the season. The goal is to maintain the proper height without allowing the grass to become excessively long.

🌙🌿 HAPPY WEEKEND FROM ASAP LOGISTICS & LANDSCAPING! 🌿🌙

Well folks… the last full weekend of August is here! 😱

Which means summer is winding down ☀️ and BACK-TO-SCHOOL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! 🎒📚

Parents everywhere are probably asking the same question:

“Where did the summer go?!” 😂

Before we officially say goodbye to August, we got the chance to witness something pretty incredible last night… or technically VERY early this morning! 🌙👀

We stepped outside to check out the partial Lunar Eclipse, and WOW… what an incredible sight! 🌌

🌎 THE EARTH'S SHADOW: At its peak, approximately 96.3% of the Moon's visible surface was covered by Earth's dark umbral shadow, leaving just a tiny silver sliver exposed.

🌙 THE “ALMOST BLOOD MOON”: The eclipsed portion took on a beautiful coppery-red glow as sunlight filtered through Earth's atmosphere. 🧡❤️

⏰ THE PEAK: The eclipse reached maximum around 12:10 a.m. EDT Friday morning.

There's something pretty amazing about standing outside in the middle of the night, looking up and realizing you're watching something happening on a planetary scale! 🌎🌙✨

Of course, after enjoying the view, we figured we should probably get some sleep…

Because apparently landscaping trucks don't drive themselves! 😂🚛🌿

Today, we’re celebrating one of life’s greatest creations: the waffle! 😋

Crispy on the outside. Fluffy on the inside. Covered in syrup, butter, berries… basically everything except grass clippings. 😂

At ASAP Logistics & Landscaping, we spend a lot of time talking about lawns, landscaping, snow removal, and getting the job done right. But today? We’re willing to put all that aside for a moment and ask the important questions:

This week’s took us somewhere pretty special the historic Arva Flour Mills! 🌾

Nestled along the banks of Medway Creek in Arva, Ontario, this incredible piece of Canadian history has been operating since 1819! 😲

That makes Arva Flour Mills Canada’s oldest continuously operating commercial flour mill and the 5th oldest continuously operating commercial business in Canada! 🇨🇦

But this isn’t just a place to admire from the outside. The mill is still actively producing natural, non-GMO artisan flours without preservatives, bleaching agents or chemical enhancers. Even more amazing, it continues to operate using a combination of water power and electricity! 💧⚡🌾

And if all that history works up an appetite, be sure to check out the Red River Café & Bakeshop! ☕🥐 Serving breakfast, lunch and fresh baked goodies made using specialty flours from the mill. Talk about farm-to-table with a side of history! 😋

🍞 Love sourdough? The Arva Sourdough Community is also a great resource for bakers of all experience levels, offering recipes, starter troubleshooting, baking tips and group bakes!

We missed posting our Thursday Thought yesterday…

And after a quick investigation, we have determined that the problem was pretty simple:

👉 There is only ONE Thursday each week. If you miss it, it is Friday! 🤣

So… HAPPY FRIDAY! 🎉🍻

At ASAP Logistics & Landscaping, we may occasionally lose track of what day it is while we're busy mowing lawns, trimming edges, managing properties, moving equipment, preparing for the upcoming snow season, and apparently trying to keep Thursday from escaping us! 😂

But don't worry, we're still on the job! 💪🌱🚛

Summer is winding down, which means we're already thinking about fall cleanups, property maintenance, snow removal, and everything else Mother Nature has planned for us. ❄️👀
