We are always privileged to sponsor local initiatives, and this one is dear to my heart, being that my sister Lauri-Ann Loreto-Neal has been to Timmins what Broadway has been to New York City. What dedication she has brought to O'Gorman High School over her years as the Theatre's Arts Teacher and Director of so many phenominal plays the school has put on. Kudos to you my sister, and to your loyal helpers and young future stars of the theatrical world.
Have a great last performance all, I only wish I could have made the trip north to see you all!!!

Day 2 of sadness... The fire is being serviced by our local firefighters and security is provided by our Timmins Police Services Board. The occupants were safely accounted for and safely relocated through the efforts of the leadership of the Empire Hotel, and various services groups in the City of Timmins. And to that we THANK YOU!!!
What sadness has fallen upon this town as the Empire Hotel with such a deep history and significance to the architecture of the north, and to the City of Timmins could never be replaced.

A news update will be given shortly after noon today, but what is needed now is to support those who lost their belongings and the organizations that are helping out to raise donations to restore whatever is needed. Keep your eyes focused on places where you can donate to help.

What a very, very, sad loss for the City of Timmins.
My thoughts and prayers are on the residents of The Empire Hotel, located immediately beside L360 ARCHITECTURE's Timmins office and to the first responders fighting to keep the other neighboring buildings safe. May God protect you from harm!!!
What a gem of a building it was, with so many memories for all that graced its beauty.

Big week for L360 ARCHITECTURE'S Timmins office with two grounbreaking ceremonies. On Tuesday, October 10th, the Minister of Education Stephen Lecce, along with L360 celebrated the construction of the St. Joseph's Catholic Elementary School's new $5.5 million Daycare building. On Friday, October 13th, with the Minister of Health and Longterm Care Stan Cho celebrating the start of construction on the new 192 Bed Golden Manor LTC the result of a great collaboration betweem Montgomery Sisam Architects, L360 ARCHITECTURE ( Nils Sillanpaa, David Doka,Spencer Bulmer), Quasar Consulting, exp, EllisDon, and the City of Timmins. Up, Up, and Away.

Today marked the official grand opening of the payload integration hall at the stratospheric balloon base in Timmins, Ontario. It was a very interesting project for an architecture company to be part of, although admittedly our Consultants were the real brain child of this project's success. Working closely with the Canadian Space Agency's RADARSAT Program and the City of Timmins this project was truly uplifting. ( pun intended)
Here's to Aime Rivard, P.Eng, and Kevin Russel, CET of Rivard Engineering Ltd, and John Hamalainen, P.Eng. of John Hamalainen Consulting Engineers Ltd for a project well done!!! Oh, and of course to L360 ARCHITECTURE's Nils Sillanpaa in keeping a close eye on this one so far away from our L360 ARCHITECTURE London office.
