Starks Plumbing Heating & Electrical was not always known by this name. Nick started out as a sheet metal mechanic. It was first known as โStark Sheet Metalโ and in the early 60โs, he expanded his business to include plumbing. These 2 trades seemed to compliment each other quite well and in 1991 we added electrical, refrigeration in 1996, and deep utilities in 1999.
During the years in Medicine Hat, Starks Plumbing has sustained several major changes to its operation. In 1967, when Starks Plumbing first opened their business in the Medicine Hat area it shared a small space with Tedโs Auto Body on South Railway St.
A few years later it relocated a few doors down into the old Air Cooled Engines Building, with approx. 3000 sq. ft of shop and office space. In 1994, Starks Plumbing once again relocated to the South West Light Industrial Area and completely renovated the old Co-op Service centre building, which currently encompasses 12,000 sq. ft. In 2000 this space was expanded further to 16,000 sq. ft. and in 2004 a new 15,000 sq. ft. building was erected in Redcliff to house the deep utility division only as space was at a premium on 14th Street.
In 1980 Nickโs son Albert joined Starks Plumbing & Heating where he became Nickโs partner in 1985. Shortly after Nick passed away in 1997 his youngest son Warren joined the firm as a full time engineer and would become Albertโs partner. Currently Albert manages the company business and Warren concentrates on designing and tendering projects.
