From reviewing winter operations to sharpening skills and refreshing procedures, our crews are getting ready for the challenges that come with snow, ice, and changing road conditions. 💪

Time to check your tires—“I’ve got four-wheel drive” is not a tread pattern!

🚗 Winter tires are required on designated Cariboo highways October 1–April 30: M+S OR the three-peaked mountain with a snowflake inside, with at least 3.5 mm tread. Mountain/snowflake tires are recommended for winter conditions.

Slow down, leave space and give our plows room.

Let’s keep the ditch strictly for snow storage! 😉

🎨🚧 LAST LINES OF THE SEASON!

As temperatures start to drop and winter weather moves in, crews are working to get the final highway line painting completed before it gets too cold for the paint to properly set.

Road markings play an important role in keeping BC highways safe, helping drivers stay in their lanes and navigate changing road conditions. Our teams are making the most of the remaining painting weather to get the job done before winter takes over! ❄️

🚗 A friendly reminder to drivers: KEEP OFF WET PAINT! Give crews plenty of room, slow down when approaching painting operations, and follow all traffic control signs and directions. Wet paint can damage your vehicle and affect the quality of the freshly painted lines.

A big thank you to road crews out there putting in the work as we transition into winter operations!

❄️ WINTER AWARENESS | REVELSTOKE DIVISION 🚧

As we head into winter, our Revelstoke Division road crews are refreshing their knowledge and getting ready for the challenges that come with the colder months ahead. 🌨️

Winter operations bring changing road conditions, reduced visibility, freezing temperatures, and unpredictable weather. Our teams are preparing to help keep roads safe and passable throughout the season.

🚜 Winter work means:
❄️ Snow removal and plowing operations
🧂 Sanding and anti-icing to improve traction
🌡️ Monitoring changing weather and road conditions
🚧 Equipment inspections and winter readiness checks
👷 Ongoing training and safe operating practices

A reminder to motorists: Give our road crews plenty of space, slow down when approaching work zones, maintain a safe following distance, and never pass snowplows or maintenance equipment unless it is safe and legal to do so.

Our crews work hard in all kinds of weather to keep British Columbia moving. Let’s all do our part to make this winter safer for everyone!
