There’s something satisfying about seeing a structure start to take shape. At this food manufacturing facility, the steel framing is complete and IMP panel installation is underway as this addition continues to come together. Each stage brings the project one step closer to the finished space — and it’s always rewarding to see the planning and coordination turn into visible progress in the field. More to come as we keep moving forward.

One Team. One Project. One Goal. 🤝👷

Pull planning is about more than building a schedule. It’s about getting everyone working together toward the same goal.

We asked Scott Gaylor with Jupiter Flooring what he thought about the Last Planner System, and the Pull Planning sessions he has been experiencing for the first time on an LCS project.

His answer? “Fantastic.” 🎥

When our trade partners are talking about the collaboration happening on site, we know it’s working.

🔥 Only 1,700 pieces later…

Our new Louisiana Grill is officially assembled and ready for action!

LCS was lucky enough to win the grill at a recent Hockey Fights Cancer tournament, and Mike and Dawson took on the real challenge: putting the thing together. 😅

Thanks, guys!

Now for the important part: putting it to good use. We have a feeling this will be a popular addition to future LCS BBQs. 🍔🌭

👷 The LCS Hard Hat Award

In sports, the best teammates aren’t always the ones filling the scoresheet.

They’re the ones blocking shots, winning battles in the corner, and doing the little things that help the team succeed, even when no one is watching.

That’s the idea behind our LCS Hard Hat Award.

Each month, the current recipient passes the hard hat to a teammate they believe deserves recognition. It’s not about a title or stats. It’s teammates recognizing teammates for hard work, being helpful, stepping up, and doing the little things right.

This month, the hard hat was passed to Johnathan Stremi.

Congrats, Johnathan. Well deserved! 👏👷

👏 Crew Spotlight: Thermo Design Insulation

We’re fortunate to work alongside trade partners who take pride in their craft, communicate well, and put safety and quality first.

A big thank you to the crew from Thermo Design Insulation for the great work on site. We appreciate the professionalism and teamwork they bring to the project every day.

Strong partnerships are what make successful projects possible.

PPE plays a critical role in keeping construction workers safe. But let’s be honest—it’s also nice to take a break when the work environment allows.

That’s why we’ve established clearly marked PPE-Free Zones on our project sites. These designated areas help ensure workers understand exactly where PPE is required and where it can be safely removed.

Good safety isn’t just about wearing PPE—it’s about understanding when and where it’s needed.

Why does our lean team use physical sticky notes for Last Planner® sessions?

Because the value isn’t in the sticky note—it’s in the conversation.

When trade partners physically write down their work, place it on the planning board, and discuss handoffs with other teams, they become active participants in the plan rather than passive recipients of a schedule.

The process creates:
✔ Better collaboration
✔ Clearer commitments
✔ Greater accountability
✔ Improved workflow between trades

A digital schedule can show the plan, but a Last Planner session with sticky notes helps the team build the plan together.

That’s the Lean difference.

Proudly Canadian.

For generations, we’ve been proud to serve Canadian businesses and communities with a commitment to quality, safety, and collaboration.

Today, we hope you can take off the hard hat, kick back, and enjoy some well-deserved time with family, friends, and everything that makes summer in Canada so great.

Happy Canada Day from the LCS team!

A few minutes of communication will always make a difference... Daily huddles are a key part of how we plan work at Lean Construction Services. They give our teams the opportunity to align and collaborate right at the beginning of the day.

In this photo, Site Supervisor Jonathon Collie, and the site foreman are reviewing how different areas of the production facility will be classified and identified throughout the project. Establishing a common language for work areas helps ensure every trade partner understands exactly where work is taking place, reducing the risk of miscommunication, and improving coordination across the site.

That’s the power of a daily huddle!

Lean Construction Services was built on family roots.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating not only the fathers on our projects but also the legacy that started it all.

Pictured here are our President, Peter, and his father, Theodore, who founded the company. Their shared commitment to hard work, integrity, and putting people first continues to shape who we are today.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at LCS!
