Day 1, 2 and 3.

I thought we nailed the beam placement, turns out there was a discrepancy of 8" in the plan and I didn't catch it. 3 ply beam had to move first thing this morning before we started the stair framing.

2 hours gone, i'll catch it next time
Glad the glue wasn't dry yet...

Tomorrow stairs get capped, drywall closed up where possible and temporary handrails.

I don't understand how some people sleep at night knowing they close bu****it like this up. I wish there were more acces...

I don't understand how some people sleep at night knowing they close bu****it like this up.

I wish there were more access for homeowners to see the proper way of building so they can recognize when they're being taken advantage of. I suppose the way is sharing more of the proper way.
So in light of that, Beams run into beams of equal or greater size. Never less. Definitely never a double stair beam running into a single floor joist. 2/3 of the dining room floor supported by a single 2x10

Structural is done, LVLs now taking the weight of the garage door header and flat roof above.

Exterior block and Plank Framing with rot/ ant damage from hell and a concrete deck slab that's poured tight to the house and re directing water to the rim board.

At this point the deeper we go the worse it gets, at least the ants aren't there anymore...
