Check out the vibe in this living space! This downtown living room had no flow or style until had their hands on it. They crushed this design. Everything from artwork to every one of the 8 media cords behind the tv wall was thoughtfully planned out from the beginning making my job easy(ish) lol. Another quick and not so easy tile job. Finished this guy up this week for our friends a simple tile laid in an intricate pattern can go a long way. Layout is crucial here and it pays off to take the time and plan it out. I love a good challenge

Another large format tile job completed. I couldnt get a finished product picture yet but i will. This floor had about 3/4" of deflection in it before we started. But by taking the proper steps and doing everything properly it will ensure a long lasting floor. First we screwed the entire floor down. Primed it, covered it in metal lathe and about 2500 staples, poured about 10 bags of Nxt level, laid stratamat and then finally finished it with 24x24 polished porcelain tile. Another tile job complete! This washroom boasts large format 24" x 24" tile. Often times people have the misconception that big tiles are easier to lay...not the case at all! There was more time spent flattening walls and floors and waterproofing than laying tile. The margin for error is so little here that even a 1/16" can ruin the entire job. I dont know why I'm so intrigued by the art of tiling. I love woodworking and all but this just comes with a whole new set of challenges. I've found myself laying more tile this year than trimwork. Maybe its time to change the name to Salerno Carpentry & Tile LTD.? Haha.

The homeowners hadn't used this shower in over 5 years and now they debate over who gets tonuse it first. Scroll through to see the befores. I'll share the final product with all the trim and painting done.

Spending a few hours this morning covering our finished floor with Ram Board. Yes, it is more work to do this but it ensures that all of our hard work laying this floor will be protected and all the trades to come in to do their finishings(plumbers, electricians, data guys, painters, tile setters and carpenters-me) will be able to set up ladders/ scaffolds, store materials and tools without worry. Homeowners will also greatly appreciate this consideration that we as trades people respect their homes. @ Vaughan, Ontario

The beauty is in the detail.. Often times in many jobs people dont fully realize how much thought and planning we put into layouts as well as insuring that movement in the joints are minimal although inevitable. Here we had the challenge of not only keeping the floor flush to the tile but also paying very close attention that the hardwood started as a full piece in the kitchen area and ended a full piece at the fireplace...not a coincidence. Taking pride in what I do is the foundation of a happy end result.

Nothing like a little Pine dining to get the weekend started 😋. Took quite some time to get this screened-in porch all wrapped in pine and a lot of layout but i absolutely loved every minute I got to work on it. All we need now is some stone on the fireplace. @ Plevna, Ontario

Some simple wainscotting and crown moulding can add huge impact to a room! Just got pictures of my painted-out work, always great to see the finished product!

Finally got a picture of the finished coffered ceiling. It took a lot of planning out and hundreds of pieces to be cut with precision but we got it done and it looks awesome! It's amazing what a little trim does to a house.
