February 20th is World Day of Social Justice (Social Justice Equality Day).
And yesterday was an international day recognizing the need to promote social justice, which includes efforts to tackle issues such as exclusion, gender inequality, human rights, and social protections. Good day to think about how architecture and design of the built environment can either support or accidentlly sabotage policies and changes meant to fix and address injustices.

Social justice is an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations. The pursuit of social justice for all is at the core of the UN's global mission to promote sustainable development and human dignity.

ICYMI our new free design for electric vehicle charging stations is now available at: https://lnkd.in/g6tjHbfs

This includes vaulable considerations and reminders anyone investing in this infrastructure may find useful for ensure instillations are consistent with diversity, equity and inclusion policies. Unfortunately so far our legislation has not yet been updated requiring any accessibility features and very few other resources include anything on the subject to help ensure designs are as usable, inclusive and sustainable as possible.

Avoid the design in haste, repent at leisure mistakes of the past. There's nothing smarter or more financially responsible than making sure accessibility is included from the start. Retrofitting to fix barriers created is incredibly expensive and a waste of time and resources.
