Chef de projet junior – Profil du candidat

Le candidat idéal travailleur, motivé, proactif, a un intérêt réel pour l'apprentissage continu et débrouillard; vous travaillez mieux lorsque vous disposez de problèmes ouverts, de directives générales et des outils nécessaires.

De plus, nous recherchons une expérience en construction commerciale au Québec; une compréhension pratique de la construction de bâtiments, de la conformité aux codes et des exigences d'ingénierie fondées sur une base qui comprend une expérience pratique.

Description du poste – Prendre un plan et le transformer en réalité

Votre principale responsabilité sera l'exécution du projet, qui comprendra :
- Planification de nouvelles constructions : élaborer, créer et tenir à jour les calendriers de projet et leurs budgets
- Gérer le projet ; soumissionner/attribuer les contrats, coordonner les travaux et fermer le projet
- Maintenir et mettre à jour les fichiers de projet actifs
- Planification de l'atténuation des risques ainsi que la résolution des problèmes sur le terrain

Exigences minimales

- Un baccalauréat ou l'équivalent (ingénierie, gestion de la construction, gestion de projet, architecture ou conception de préférence)
- 3 ans d'expérience pertinente
- Maîtrise des logiciels de gestion de projet et Excel.
- Maîtrise de l'anglais et du français
- Avoir un permis de conduire
- Être situé dans la grande région de Montréal
- Des connaissances des métiers techniques et en restauration sont un atout

Additionally, we are looking for commercial construction experience in Quebec; a practical understanding of building construction, code compliance and engineering requirements built on a foundation that includes hands-on experience.

Job Description – Taking a blueprint and turning it into reality

Your primary responsibility will be project ex*****on, which will include:
- New construction planning: developing, creating and maintaining project schedules and their budgets
- Managing the project; bidding/awarding contracts, coordinating the work and closing the project
- Maintaining and updating active project files
- Risk mitigation planning as well as leading resolution of in-field issues that arise

Minimum Requirements

- A bachelor's degree or equivalent (Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture or Design preferred)
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in project management software and in use of spreadsheets
- Fluency in English and French
- Driver’s license
- Being located in the Greater Montreal Region
- Technical knowledge and hands on experience is an asset

Le Poste:

Sous la responsabilité du directeur, le chargé de projets est responsable de toutes les étapes d’un projet de construction en collaboration avec les différents intervenants. Il organise et contrôle la réalisation des travaux dans le respect de l’échéancier et de l’enveloppe budgétaire.

Principales fonctions :
• Planifier les travaux à partir du début, coordonner l’exécution, et contrôler.
• Établir l’échéancier et effectuer la mise à jour selon l’avancement des travaux
• Négocier et attribuer les contrats aux sous-traitants et fournisseurs
• Coordonner les réunions de projet avec les intervenants et soutenir les activités surintendant au chantier
• Établir et entretenir les communications nécessaires avec les sous-traitants, les professionnels et le client
• Gestion de risque et résolution de problèmes

Candidate Profile:

You have a practical understanding of building construction, code compliance and engineering requirements built on a foundation that includes hands on experience. You have a genuine interest in continuously learning and expanding your knowledge of construction standards and technique and project management.

You are highly organised, able to multitask and coordinate multiple projects, people and deadlines at once; at times in stressful and chaotic conditions. You work best when provided open ended problems, general directives and the tools and resources to structure a plan of action and follow it through with limited guidance.

Passionate about technology, you use the latest software and hardware efficiently and effectively to minimise working on routine tasks.

Bilingual, you are equally comfortable speaking and writing in both English and French. Your communications are concise and structured, and you adapt your language to your audience. As trades are mostly francophone, mastery of French is essential.

Your primary responsibility will be project ex*****on, which will include but in no way limited to the following:
• New construction planning: developing, creating and maintaining project schedules and detail cost breakdowns for active construction projects in various stages of the development process and ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget.
• Managing everything from the bidding process of subcontractors and suppliers to awarding contracts, coordinating the work and closing the project.
• Managing communications with all stakeholders including trades, engineers, architects, designers, site super, clients and building owners.
• Maintaining and updating active project files which includes logging and filing of submittals, drawing submissions, technical architecture, construction budgets, etc.
• Risk mitigation planning as well as leading resolution of in-field issues that arise.
Minimum Requirements:
• A Bachelor degree (Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture or Design preferred)
• 3-10 years of relevant experience; at least 2 year in projects under $1M in Quebec commercial construction industry
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Projects, Asana, etc) and in use of spreadsheets (MS Excel, etc)
• Driver’s license

Exigences:
• Un Baccalauréat (préférablement en génie, construction, architecture ou design)
• Posséder 3-10 années d’expérience pertinente, dont au moins 2 dans le milieu construction commercial au Québec.
• Avoir du leadership, orienté action et résultats
• Parfaitement Bilingue en Anglais et Français
• Être en mesure de travailler sous pression
• Posséder d’excellentes habiletés en gestion, en négociation et en communication
