An important perspective on billionaire financiers:

"...[M]ake no mistake, there is no room for billionaires in the economy we are building.

Today they donate their millions in an attempt to co-opt the movement, and curtail it away from a more radically equitable economy.

In the future economy, billionaires will not exist. In the present, they will not manage the transition away from capitalism. Our values are not for sale."

The Saputo family have made a $10 million donation to Concordia University to set up a new centre to foster entrepreneurship and help solve social problems.

Is the compensation package for taxi drivers enough?

How do we ensure that a democratic option takes the market, and not the would-be global monopoly UBER?

Thoughts?

If passed, Bill 17 will deregulate much of the taxi industry, creating a permanent place in Quebec for ride-booking companies like Uber that have operated on a provisional basis thus far. The taxi industry is less than pleased.
