Ain't perfect but I built it and it will feed me, the kiddo and a couple others so I'm happy.

Throw back to the problem piggies who went on tour 2+ km away and we had to shepard them back... cant say I miss it but can say yummy... revenge is best served cold... on ice cold in the freezer lol 🤣

Well 6 months and a lot of tears, meltdowns, blood and sweat Im finally building the homestead of my dreams. Its a hell of a lot harder doing it alone but its been my dream as long as I can remember. To be like my grandparents, grow as much of our own food and preserve it to feed the fam for the year.
Its not like was planned 3 yrs ago when I started the journey to move to NB and feed my soul but its something that is absolutely worth it, including going back to work and not being a full time stay at home mom homeschooling. Geoffrey and I are adapting and adjusting. I thank God daily for him. And Im so blessed that this life calls to his little soul too. He loves more than anything when we get to eat our own food. In fact he refused to eat ground meat until it was our own pig ground up. I might be a bad mom and now call hamburger meat ground Hughie (the pig Geoffrey named that we are currently consuming) and he happily eats it claiming we raise the best food lol. I gotta get the meat into him some how lol.
But at 6 yrs old he hops in his little John Deere gator and loads up to tackle chores with me, almost never complaining.
Can't wait until we are completely set up how I want. Until then I smile at the steps we have taken and the progress we have made.
