Skylight Leaks? Hereâs Why
We get a ton of skylight leak calls every winter, and itâs usually the same preventable issues:
1. Oversized water runoff folds
These trap debris and moss, holding moisture right where you donât want it. Over time, this eats away at your corner flashing.
Our fix: sealed, clean runoff designâno buildup, no problems.
2. Top flashing covered by shingles
This is a big one. Shingles deteriorate over time, and when theyâre hiding critical flashing, it compromises the entire system.
Proper install = metal-on-metal protection, not buried weak points.
3. No proper runoff channel along the sides
Without a clear path for water to escape, it will find its way under your shinglesâguaranteed.
We make sure water is directed away, not trapped.
