Field Estimator / Project Coordinator – Drywall & Insulation
D.A.M. Good Drywall Ltd. is a growing construction company specializing in drywall, insulation, steel stud framing, T-bar ceilings and painting. We work on commercial, residential and multi-family construction projects throughout Vancouver Island and Western Canada.
We are looking for a Field Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines field estimating, site coordination, material and manpower scheduling, inspections and project coordination.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background and practical knowledge of drywall, insulation, steel stud framing and T-bar ceiling systems. This person will work closely with our office estimator and project management team to ensure projects are properly measured, coordinated and kept moving.
Key Responsibilities
Field Estimating & Site Measurements
Visit active construction sites to verify existing conditions and take accurate field measurements to place the accurate material order.
Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, additional work and potential change orders.
Review drawings and specifications and understand how they translate into actual field conditions.
Take site photographs and maintain accurate field records.
Review the project scope, drawings and specifications with the office estimator before going to site.
Maintain constant communication with the office estimator & office manager to assist with the change orders, progress draws and other project documentation.
Project Coordination
Monitor project progress and identify issues that could affect our schedule or scope.
Schedule material deliveries to ensure materials are available when required and crews are not delayed. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time.
Schedule and coordinate manpower based on project progress, site readiness and upcoming work.
Monitor site readiness and coordinate with the General Contractor and other trades when required.
Track upcoming work and proactively communicate manpower, material and scheduling requirements to the office.
Follow up on outstanding items and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
Construction Knowledge Required
The successful candidate must have a strong background and practical knowledge of:
Drywall / Gypsum Board
Insulation
Steel Stud Framing
T-Bar / Acoustical Ceiling Systems
You should be able to look at construction drawings, understand the required assemblies, recognize what is happening in the field and understand what needs to happen next.
Previous experience working directly in drywall, insulation, steel framing or T-bar construction is strongly preferred.

Qualifications
3+ years of experience in construction, estimating, project coordination or a related field.
Strong practical knowledge of drywall, insulation, steel stud framing and T-bar ceilings.
Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings.
Experience taking field measurements and assessing existing conditions.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
