With great sadness I found out today when I went into Art Knapp to get a few things and see how everyone was, that a year ago today February 16 Patrick Van Hest had passed away suddenly😔
Some may not know that it was Pat that set up our gardens for Favour Valley Acres. He spent many hours with me coming out to our farm, to even having me take pictures to see how much shadow there was to know the right spacing to make for the fences.
Pat was a Pro to help someone that was a little green behind the ears to take on the huge gardens that I had envisioned for Favour Valley Acres.
When Pat took over Art Knapp in Richmond because of the passing of his brother, I made sure to stop in every doctor's appointment I had to get all my questions answered. And Pat took the time to explain till I understood clearly. How many business owners would do that? Pat did💓
Like the one time he told me, Deborah why don't you grow up? And I answer, ya and I love you too Pat. No, grow upward using less plants and getting more productivity. We both had a good laugh and I tell that joke to everyone whenever I'm talking about Favour Valley Acres🤣😂
Tim my condolences goes out to you and the family. Randy and I are in shock of finding out of your loss. Blessings to Art Knapp and I know I will always tell of how Favour Valley Acres got started.
Thanks Pat for all that you did and remember I would like my garden to be next to yours in heaven😊

Favour Valley Acres new look is now a Sole Proprietor that's Growing Healthy Communities by doing Workshops of teaching Permaculture

Hi Folks
It's been a while since I posted on our site Favour Valley Acres, so it's time that I explain what it is that my husband Randy and I are doing.
Since Randy's horrific accident July 16, 2019 we've sold our acreage and rethinking how we can do Favour Valley Acres but better.
Because of Randy's limitations and now my own limitations we have decided along with our board of directors to dissolve our non-profit society. But it doesn't end there.
Favour Valley Acres is now a sole proprietor. Meaning we're going to be setting up Favour Valley Acres everywhere as model gardens. Randy and I will be teaching others of what we did on our acreage to benefit a greater region.
Each model garden will be managed by the individual that owns the land with the trained ability to do Workshops to train others in the gardening method of Permaculture.
There will be a charge for each workshop that is the profit of the owner of the model garden to off set the cost of providing this valid service.
Together we will equip others to grow and teach by doing Workshops that all will benefit from the method of Permaculture in growing Nutrient Dense Produce.
Let's GROW TOGETHER and Make A Difference in what we eat👨‍🌾👩‍🌾

Last night in the bitter COLD🥶🥶 while doing chores till 10:00 pm, mama Calypso🦙 (brown) and Citta🦙 sleeping outside with their bums to eachother. While baby Tobie🦙 sleeps in the barn🥰

My MOST EXCITING day was Thursday November 21 when a most loving lady Joann, that Randy and I met in May this year.
Favour Valley Acres has been home for our lovable alpacas since 2012 and because of the cost to process their fiber we were not able to do so😔
Joann is from the Knitter's Gil in Errington that took a challenge and proceeded our fiber into the MOST BEAUTIFUL SOFT fiber like the softness of the fluffiest cloud to relax in.
Joann made Randy and me hand warmers that is Calypso's fiber OUR mama alpaca that Joann couldn't get over how beautiful her fiber is.
All the white fiber is Citta's fiber that can be dyed with natural things like blueberries or rusty nails for a deep red.
Our FIRST ever fiber that Joann is going to make some AWESOME items for Randy and me to treasure for life. As well I will be using some for felting to make the most adorable little animals.
I can't even put into words how SPECIAL this is despite all that has happened to us this year. This gift of LOVE from a lady we never met before took what we were told was garbage and with love and care transformed it to the most valuable product that would be desired by many🥰
