SEEDS mission is to grow healthy food and contribute to local food security through educational programs, donating food to short-term relief efforts and participating in food system policy change. SEEDS Nelson is in a transition phase working toward constructing a community growing hub at Seventh St. Park with the installation of a repurposed greenhouse in the summer of 2021. SEEDS networks with o

rganic food producers, organic markets, local farmers, and British Columbia seeds distributors; we promote and welcome all links in the food security network. We grow food as local as in your neighbourhood park, and we encourage you to grow local food as well!

Our Story

SEEDS mission is to grow healthy food and contribute to local food security through educational programs, donating food to short-term relief efforts and participating in food system policy change. PREVIOUSLY :: SEEDS operated during the 10 months of the year when the City-owned greenhouses are not in use, essentially from mid-August/early September to mid-May/early June annually.

CURRENTLY :: SEEDS is in limbo waiting to set up the ‘grow more’ greenhouse that the City of Nelson donated to our cause at our new location near John’s Walk in Nelson.
