Layout is crucial in timber furniture crafting. I used the common Japanese method: center line layout. I mark the timber's middle and draw ink lines on all sides, guiding joinery. All measurements stem from this line, ensuring precision.

For intricate designs like the curved bed frame, creativity is key. My workshop's limited space prompted a unique approach. Using a computer-plotted graph, I marked intersecting points on the timber and connected them to create the desired arc. Innovation meets tradition in this timber craft.
