Today we said goodbye to the van that started TrueCraft Renovations.

This old Ford has been with us since day one. It hauled tools, materials, and more loads than I could ever count. It showed up to the first jobs with the TrueCraft Renovations name on the side and played a big part in getting this company to where it is today.
After years of hard work and a whole lot of kilometres, today was its final trip, straight to the scrapyard.

A little rough around the edges by the end, but it definitely earned its retirement.

Thanks for the kilometres, the memories, and for helping build TrueCraft Renovations from the ground up.

MAIN FLOOR RENOVATION | WELLAND

A complete main-floor transformation with TrueCraft managing the project from start to finish.

Our scope included demolition, framing and insulation, drywall and plaster repairs, subfloor preparation and leveling, laminate flooring, tile work, interior doors, trim carpentry, painting and finishing throughout.

We also coordinated our licensed electrical and plumbing trades along with trusted specialty partners to bring the entire project together.

Tile flooring, backsplash tile and laminate flooring were sourced through Alfieri Floor Experts in Welland, providing quality materials and a great local selection for this renovation.

Another main floor renovation complete 🔨

A renovation of this size has a lot of moving parts, and bringing everything together takes planning, coordination and attention to detail.

TrueCraft completed a large portion of this transformation, including demolition, framing, insulation, drywall, floor preparation, tile, finish carpentry, painting and refinishing the existing popcorn ceilings.

The hardwood flooring was professionally installed by Alfieri Floor Experts , who did an excellent job bringing the new flooring together with the rest of the renovation.

All electrical work was completed by Fireline Electric . Always great working alongside a reliable local trade that takes pride in their work.

We also worked closely with our licensed and specialty trade partners, helping coordinate scheduling and communication throughout the renovation to keep everything moving smoothly.

A great project, great clients, and a finished space we're proud to put our name behind.

Sometimes the best part of finishing a renovation has nothing to do with the finished product.

Susan and Marc surprised me with this custom card as we wrapped up their main floor renovation, including their kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living spaces.

What makes it even more meaningful is that this wasn't our first project together. I previously had the opportunity to renovate their entire basement, and being invited back into someone's home for another major renovation is one of the biggest compliments you can receive as a contractor.

Building a business comes with a lot of long days, and gestures like this are a pretty great reminder of why I do what I do.

With the recent flooding in our region, many homeowners are looking for contractors quickly. Don't let urgency lead to a costly mistake.
Before hiring anyone, do your due diligence. Verify their business credentials, ensure they carry liability insurance and WSIB coverage, check their Google reviews, confirm they have a legitimate business address, ask how long they've been in business, and make sure they actually specialize in the type of work you need completed.
A little research today can save you thousands of dollars and a lot of stress tomorrow. Stay safe, hire wisely, and don't become a victim simply because you're feeling pressured to get the work done quickly.

Sometimes a partial kitchen refresh is all it takes to completely transform a space.
