Surepoint is looking for Certified Journeyman Electricians (or Indentured Apprentices) and Instrumentation Technicians to join our field team.

You'll be working on compressor panels, RTUs, MCC equipment, VFDs, solar panels, heat trace, and production facility systems — the real stuff, in a fast-paced industrial environment. Journeymen will also be expected to mentor apprentices and help raise the standard of workmanship across the crew.

We're proud to have Alayna on the Surepoint team this summer!

It's been great to see her enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and positive attitude. Programs like RAP provide students with valuable hands-on experience while helping build the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

Thanks for highlighting Alayna's journey Black Gold School Division —we're excited to be part of it!

When Alayna T. enters Grade 11 at École Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School in the fall, she will be more knowledgeable and experienced in the trades.

Alayna is working this summer at Surepoint Technologies Group as a parts technician. She organizes inventory, counts and labels parts, packages orders for shipping, and helps out around the warehouse.

Alayna says, "The great community within Surepoint has allowed me to have an extremely welcoming introduction to the world of trades."

Alayna wanted to have this experience to learn more about working in the trades. She is part of the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) that gives students credits towards high school graduation, credit towards their trade, and a pay cheque from the employer. We're proud to welcome Stephen Newlands to the Surepoint team as our newest Business Development Representative, based out of our Nisku location.

Stephen brings deep roots in the trades as a Journeyman Electrician, backed by hands-on commercial and industrial experience. He also has a strong background in Business Development and Account Management across the electrical contracting, wholesale, manufacturing, and chemical distribution sectors. That combination of technical expertise and commercial insight is exactly what makes him a great fit for Surepoint.

In his new role, Stephen will focus on identifying and pursuing opportunities across the midstream, upstream, and industrial sectors, helping expand Surepoint's presence throughout Central Alberta. He'll be working closely with clients to promote our full suite of electrical and instrumentation services, as well as our natural gas engine and compressor parts distribution capabilities.

Outside of work, Stephen is a dedicated family man, married with three kids, who enjoys travelling, staying active, and spending plenty of time on the soccer field as a player, referee, and coach. If you've crossed paths with him in the industry or on the pitch, you've likely already experienced the enthusiasm and professionalism he brings.
