Retaining wall. Fence. Putting green. Cabana. Pool. Sunken firepit. We do it all.

This is one corner of the Airport Hill build: a block retaining wall, black ornamental fencing, interlocking pavers wrapping a synthetic turf putting green, and a cabana with full glass sliders and a covered lounge off the end. Out of frame there’s the pool, a sunken firepit and stonework through the whole yard, all planned and built as one job by one crew.

From the driveway to the lake, all in one continuous path. 👇

This North Bay job started with tired timbers and old brick. We pulled it all out and rebuilt the route from scratch: steps up from the driveway, a walkway that wraps around the side of the house, and a staircase down the slope to a brand new patio on the lakeside.

Everything ties together with one product family. Oaks Nueva steps carry the elevation changes, Oaks Nueva retaining walls hold back the grade, and Oaks Ridgefield Smooth pavers run the full length, from the walkway right through to the patio under the deck.

The result is one clean, consistent look from the street to the water, with solid footing the whole way down.

Got a yard with a lot of slope to work around? That’s our kind of project.

Before and after on the side of this North Bay home. 👇

The old timber steps had done their time. We pulled out the existing timbers and brick and rebuilt the whole climb with Oaks Nueva steps and Oaks Nueva retaining walls, finished with Oaks Ridgefield Smooth pavers on the landings and at the base.

This section is one piece of a bigger job: a new walkway that runs from the driveway, wraps around the side of the house and leads down to a new patio on the lakeside. Full project post coming soon.

Clean lines, solid footing, and nothing left to rot or shift.

Front to back, one property on Airport Hill.

Out front, we built a curved interlock driveway with a contrasting border that wraps around a fresh lawn island, anchored by a mature blue spruce. Stone pillars and black metal fencing tie the whole frontage together.

Out back, the pool area is surrounded by a large interlock patio with a dark accent band framing the pool. The stacked stone slide feature with rope railings is a favourite. Past the pool there's a cabana and a golf putting green, so the yard works for swimming, lounging and a few practice putts. A river rock border finishes off the edge of the yard.

The pool itself was built by our sister company, Complete Pools & Spas. Two crews, one finished yard.

Planning something like this for next season? Now's the time to get on the list.

Northern Ontario summers are short, and the evenings cool off fast. A built-in fire pit stretches your outdoor season into spring and fall, so the patio gets used long after the sun goes down.

Here's why homeowners love them:

🔥 A natural gathering spot. People drift toward a fire. It pulls family and friends together and gets everyone off their phones.

🔥 Built-in seating. A curved seat wall like this one means no hauling chairs around, and it holds everyone in close to the warmth.

🔥 More season, less indoors. Cool September nights and crisp spring evenings become prime backyard time.

🔥 Low maintenance. Stone and pavers stand up to our freeze-thaw winters and look good year after year.

🔥 Adds value. A finished hardscape feature makes a yard feel like an extra room, and buyers notice.

This one pairs a round fire pit with a two-level curved seat wall, a flagstone-style centre and a paver patio that ties it all together.

The details are what make a wall look finished.

Smooth-faced wall block, tight joints, and a flat cap that wraps clean around the corner. A single step ties the two levels together, and the charcoal border frames the paver field so the lighter stone stands out against the house.

Retaining wall, steps and pavers, all installed by our crew.

Airport Hill, from the air. This backyard sits on the edge of a steep drop, so the first job was the retaining wall. One tall face of split-face block built into the slope, holding up the whole yard. On top of it we ran a black aluminum fence along the full edge, laid the paver patio in grey with a charcoal border, and built the cabana at the back of the house. A synthetic putting green ties it all together.

Big grade, big wall, and a backyard the owners can actually use.

Steps from the driveway down to the backyard, with a new fence to match. A long run of grey paver steps set tight against the house, a block cheek wall along the fence side, and a paver landing at the bottom with a charcoal border to finish it off. The black aluminum fence went in at the same time, so the whole side yard came together in one job.

Steep lot? We can make it walkable.

This custom cabana was part of a complete backyard transformation, and it might just be the best seat in the house.

Tongue and groove cedar ceiling with pot lights. Stone pillars. Sliding glass doors that open the space right up. A covered lounge area with a view that stretches for miles.

It sits alongside artificial turf, a stone patio, and a full outdoor living setup designed for family time all season long.

This is what it looks like when your backyard becomes your favourite destination.

Smooth-faced wall block topped with overhanging coping for a crisp shadow line, wide stone steps, and a paver patio framed by a charcoal cobble border for contrast. Every detail matters when the materials do the talking.

Hardscaping like this isn't just about looks. A properly built retaining wall manages grade changes, drains properly, and holds up through every North Bay freeze-thaw cycle.
