Here's an old Traynor YBA-1A amp head that a customer wanted the circuit restored to original. It had an overdrive modification and a post phase inverter master volume. Now that it's back to stock, you can hear how much distortion the output tubes make when it's cranked. This is very much like an old plexi Marshall!

In addition to having a bad connection on a filter capacitor, the Dr Z MAZ 38 amp also had a failing rectifier tube. This problem was discovered by doing the highly technical "tap test" which requires the use of a specialized diagnostics tool, the Riff-Hammer!

After resoldering the filter capacitor on the Dr Z MAZ 38 amp, I ran a bead of hot glue to keep it from moving. This will keep the problem from happening again in the future.

Here's the cause of the intermittent hum when the Dr Z amp was tipped. One of the filter caps had a broken lead.
