This week we were a little under-folked as we had HJ, JY, CW, and JBr away for at least a day or more this week! Some lime HJ were crushing it on summer camping/concert vaca and JY, on the other side of the scale of fun was parked in a seat at BCIT all week! Nonetheless, there were a few submissions and a couple from Matt’s wonderings.

1) The judge this week was heavily biased and chose Josh’s first submission! Not only was tidy but bonus marks for coming off the bench to help out!

2) ML’s under vanity accent lighting sets a cool “V” on the wall. This will look cool at night.

3) Alexander’s cheeky “safety first” approach is much appreciated! Thy fused disconnect must be bondeth first!

4) high Performance houses require high performance electricians! Matt noticed this measured and thoughtful piercing of the control membrane in this

5) getting creative! This is a joint submission from Ben and Jud. Top box relay, for when you didn’t run a cable from upstairs to downstairs to link the emergency lights and you only have cat6, use a ultra low voltage power supply and relay.
Bottom box, current switch that turns the exhaust fan on when the “speed oven” is in use.

6) Matt’s sitting at a desk preparing this IG post and looks up at just the right time to giggle and take this shot of a rare event!!! Those in the know will know. hehe

7-10) Last week’s winners! Minus HJ who’s away!

This week’s Ward Electric Challenge is complete and this week we asked Matt to be the impartial judge…..soooo every submission wins this week!!!

1) James has an very well organized cabling set! Looking sharp!!

2) Everything Mike touches is worthy but this week he didn’t get his submission in because ol he was trapped in a dungeonous basement, BUT fortunately Matt snapped this picture of Mike’s cabling inside a cabinet. (Camera guy did a terrible job…. And the cable was a meter deep in the cabinet where it couldn’t t be damaged).

3) CH with a very tidy cabling and stapling with intent!! Very pleasing to look at! 👊

4) Hannah has a very creative way to cool an over heating M18 and holesaw! Also, sic fridge!!!!

5) Judson with “plain white ice cream. No dark chocolate sauce. No strawberry. No brown walnuts sprinkled on top. Just plain white vanilla” recessed ribbon. It’s been two YEARS but he (we) got our Schedules and final inspections completed this week!! 👍👍🏆🏆

6) Alexander with a “finding that buried box with no extra drywall damage!!!” Aka earning you Après rum cocktail!

7) If you’ve been in this trade for more than a heartbeat, you know the value of an extra pair of st*****rs! Inevitably your go to st*****rs will be lost, blow up, or loaned out never to be seen again. Soooo, this weeks winners will receive one of our favourite st*****rs!

8) Last, but not least, Coho late on a Baby Friday at the Lounge!

Weekly challenge!! Guest Judge this week was Mike from Gescan Express NV #8! Mike is actually gleeful right now (if you know him! 😉)

1) Connor with many wires to manage and did to with a little stapling flare! (Note - they are very tight to the sheathing however, there is a cavity right behind and therefore not susceptible to mechanical damage). Congratulations C!!

2) Mike’s mastery of driver cabinets and photo taking from cool angles continues!!

3) Alexander’s “perfect layout!” We love the attention to panel cover size compared to the 12x12 cover. Looks out of line but when all the covers are on….perfection!

4) Clay with a tricky bench seat linear ribbon install! Cozy spot with cozy lighting options! 👊

5) Hannah’s amazing shot of Judson’s amazing flow!! This is truly a crew fav and earned MANY internal comments! So fun!

6) Judson’s terminal block terminations are tight and methodical!

7) James has a PERFECT receptacle wiring! Picture perfect JB! Nice 🤙

8) Mikey!!!! Our judge this week and counter rockstar! Definitely a team fav!

9) The Prize this week!! A long shaft #2 driver!

I think this home is my favourite of my career. Custom lighting design in the right places with small, powerful lights. The snow makes it look like it’s out of a magazine!

Not glamorous, but it is necessary: any metal within 10’ of a pool requires electrical bonding. This is a simple example bonding for a built in pool cover system.
