We recently completed a high end 6,000 square foot law firm in downtown Toronto.

The client wanted us to do a basic polish of their existing concrete slabs. We mechanically polished the slabs to an 800 grit finish and then completed the polish with a densifier and stain guard.

Known for its low maintenance cost, polished concrete also provides superior durability, permanent dust proofing, and a highly reflective surface. Polished concrete has bridged the gap between aesthetics and performance of concrete as a final finish.

Client was extremely happy with the way the polish turned out and will be a repeat customer for Floor Solutions for future projects!

Here are the finished pour shots of The W Student Residence at Sherwood Forest Square in London. This is a 3 building student housing complex that the University of Western Ontario is rolling out to help with the increasing enrollment rate they are experiencing each year.

We were hired to pour our 5,500psi cementitious self-leveling cement over hollowcore precast slabs which will leave a flat, smooth, & hard surface and enable construction trade traffic to continue within hours of the cement setting.

Our 5,500psi self-leveler will accept any floor covering, especially the ones with the highest industry standards like thin sheet goods which is the finished floor on this project.

underlayment at a 1/2" depth over precast slabs in order to leave
a smooth, flat and hard surface for any flooring goods going on
top.

Here are the finished pour shots of Connect Communities in Hamilton, a 20,000 square foot centre providing services for people living with a brain injury or have suffered a stroke.

On this project we poured a cementitious self-leveling cement in order to correct all existing camber issues as well as to smooth out the precast slabs for finished floor coverings. You can walk over our cement in 4 hours which allows other trades to continue working immediately and you can install floor coverings on top in 24 hours, hence speeding up the construction schedules of all our clients!

We take pride in working on buildings that will provide essential services to those who need it the most, more now than ever given all the health issues we are currently facing today.

Wood sub-floor leveling for this 6 story 60,000 square foot mid-rise stacked townhome in Toronto.

This project involved pouring 1 1/2" of our self-leveling underlayment. All of our underlayments will drastically improve any building fire and STC ratings as well as smooth out the existing substrate for the flooring contractor to lay their floor coverings on top with ease. @ Toronto, Ontario

As a continuation of our last post we will be highlighting what most of you have been waiting for… the polish of the newly poured topping as well as the finished floor look for this 20,000 square foot high end retail store in Sarnia.

Once we poured K-520 topping we polished it to an 800 grit medium gloss finish with aggregate exposure. Another example of how we are able to package together any scopes of work a project might have (in this case it was the floor leveling and the polish).

High end intricate work is what we are known for. Being able to deliver quality work like this over and over is what we strive for. Another satisfied customer in the books! @ Sarnia, Ontario.

As a continuation from our last post we will now be highlighting the pour shot for this
20,000 square foot high end retail store in Sarnia.

Once we installed the EP-2000 epoxy-primer with sand broadcast we poured
K-520 polishable topping.

Some people may be asking why do you need to lay a sand broadcast across the floor? The purpose of the sand broadcast is to ensure a stronger bond to the polishable topping as well as help mitigate any micro-
cracking that might occur.

Over the next few posts we will be highlighting a 20,000 square foot high end retail store we recently completed. We will also be highlighting and describing Floor Solution’s complete polished topping system that we have been delivering to all our clients for years.

The scope of work involved preparing the existing concrete slabs (existing conditions shown in the photos) in order to pour and polish an Ardex portland cement topping.

On this post we will be highlighting pictures of the prep. We first started by infilling all existing trenches with Ardex’s TRM repair ramping mortar. Next we diamond grinded the existing concrete slabs in order to profile the slabs surface. We then installed Ardex’s EP-2000 epoxy-primer with sand broadcast.
