A wee little flat. Really wish the carpenters would leave out the windows in a situation like this. We spend a lot of time undoing work so we can install the membrane on the windowsill's.

A couple of good-sized VMS Ridgelights. These turned out really nice, only after we resized, and strengthened the openings. I assisted The Renosence Men on this install.

Even though I'm a roofer who specializes in flat roofing, I work with my good budy's Rob and his brother Dany. Rob owns a company called The Renosence Men, and he specializes in skylights. Rob is also a Velux skylight distributor. He also has the distinction of being a top referred contractor by Velux for the GTA.

So, today, we roll up on a skylight job that was done recently by a shingle company in Milton. Right from the time we get out of the truck, the skylight looks wrong. When we get up on the roof, it's obvious that the skylight isn't sitting on the curb properly. Turns out it's because the front counter flashing is installed crooked. This is a big deal because the gasket isn't keeping the cool air out, and it results in condensation. You can see water dripping in one of the pictures. Next, you can clearly see that the step flashing and ice and water shield were not installed properly, and it would only be a matter of time before there was damage to the roof decking.

Long story short, Rob, Dany, are hired to fix the problem. We rip that s**t apart and put it back together in no time. Cherry on top is a beautiful opening solar unit with a blind.

Onother 2 ply modified bitumen roof completed. We removed the existing BUR roof, removed the weird curve over the front door as per the homeowners' request, and added a drain over the garage portion of the roof. This was also the first brown cap sheet install we did all season! Siding and metal will be taken care of by our good friends at Everlast Roof Systems. 👍🙂
