We had to take a break from Oakville today so we could head to Elora to help Jeff with his man CAVE project! We finished some major floor repairs so we could flake the floor with Nightfall. Today we got some slat wall up so the electricians can wire up a new panel and install a huge ass TV! This will be an amazing space when we are done with it!

Like the American Alligator, .ca is coming out of a long cold winter hibernation! And we’re hungry for some big projects. We have a lot of exciting things in the works. Stand by for some full-on garage renovations, concrete polishing and epoxy work! Let’s GOOOO!!!!

CAVE was called in to repair a newly finished “polished” concrete floor that didn’t meet expectations.

Here’s what we found:

• Inconsistent aggregate exposure
• Patchy, uneven appearance
• Dull areas beside semi-gloss zones
• Edges that didn’t match the field

The issue wasn’t the concrete.

It was the process.

Polished concrete is built step by step.
If the initial grind isn’t uniform, the final result can never be uniform.

If grit progression is rushed, scratches and haze remain trapped in the surface.

If edges aren’t refined properly, transitions become visible.

There are no shortcuts in true polishing.

We’re currently re-establishing proper exposure and running a disciplined refinement sequence to deliver the finish the client expected the first time.

We’ll share the final results once complete.

Consider polished concrete! Working with interior designers on projects where concrete and resin floors need to feel intentional and design-led, not industrial. Polished concrete is a growing trend in high value homes.

The client asked for Sea Breeze flake in his mechanical room. With no stock around, we made it ourselves and it turned out fantastic!

.ca we just finished part 1 of this polishing project for in an underground garage. Polished concrete gives a natural and organic look that just can’t be duplicated. Once construction is complete, we’ll give it a final burnish. Big thanks to for the hours on the grinder and for supplying the concrete hardener.

Big thanks to Jim from for the opportunity to do some homes for a couple of clients in Etobicoke! We’ll be doing epoxy and flake in the mechanical rooms and garages. Hopefully we’ll be doing some slat wall and cabinetry as well. Check back to see the results!

we get asked why polishing concrete is so expensive. Let’s start with having to bring a 700lb machine down an elevator shaft! We’lll do whatever is necessary. Then we have a pile of diamonds! 3 days in and we have only ‘scratched’ the surface!
