Copied from a fellow framer. I couldn’t agree more!!!
This is as true as the day is long. I'm hoping this resonates with someone who needs to see this. Your not going to get better with just time✔️. If you can't wait to get out of work or don't look forward to being there everyday then it's time to think about what your doing. If you see guys around you on the job and they are good at the trade and you envy them, well I can guarandamtee you that they put the time in after hours. I know I have countless hours spinning a square and drawing and trying to figure things out. If your not willing to do that then you will never get to where you want to be. I believe this is true for every aspect of our lives. I think about framing non stop. While I'm driving down the road alone or with my family I'm looking at rooflines and the architecture of structures as I drive by. When I lay in bed at night tomorrow is on my mind and I plan each moment of my day. call it a PSA call me an as***le, either way I'm telling you that greatness or above average performance comes from the effort put forth while on the job and most definitely off of the job. Our trade is suffering these days it desperately needs commitment and devotion to keep it alive. We don't want robots and factory assembly lines taking our craft. Fall in love, be passionate, promise yourself to be a better carpenter everyday and you will do just that✔️🙌
