Heat pumps work differently than traditional gas fire heaters, and one of the biggest differences is condensation. 💧

As your heat pump transfers warmth into your pool water, condensation naturally forms inside the heat exchanger and collects on the pad below. It’s the same principle as the water that drips from your AC on a hot day.

What to expect:
✅ Water on the pad is a normal byproduct of heat transfer
✅ It’s a sign your heat pump is doing its job
✅ No maintenance or repair needed

So if you spot a puddle under your unit, don’t worry. That’s exactly what it should be doing.

🔹 Automatic cover, operated from the back of the yard

The automatic cover is one of our favourite features on this project, allowing the homeowners to secure the pool in seconds whenever it’s not in use.

It’s that time of year again! If you’re noticing yellow or dark mounds at the bottom of your pool, it might not be dirt or a broken vacuum — it’s likely pollen, which can travel for miles on the wind before settling in your water.

How to tell if it’s pollen:

🔵 Grab your pool brush and get close to the debris

🔵 If it puffs away like a cloud, it’s pollen

🔵 It may look gone, but pollen will eventually settle back down and reappear later

The best way to fix it: Vacuuming to waste is one option, but doing this repeatedly during pollen season wastes a lot of water and means more balancing chemicals.

Instead, we recommend Dazzle Clear Rebound. This enzyme-based product goes after the pollen, breaking it down and destroying it naturally — so you don’t have to constantly refill your pool.

Spring is here and the Taunton Pools team is officially in full swing across Durham Region. Pool openings, vinyl liner installations, and new pool builds are all getting underway as the weather begins to warm up.
